Y/N POV

It took a good few minutes to finally pluck up the courage to leave the wine room. Dimitrescu had clearly moved on by this point so it seemed to be safe. I couldn't be too careful though. Slowly I opened the door stepping back out into the main hall.

I approached the staircase, I looked around, scanning the large room. Sure enough, there was no sign of the Lady of the castle now, I took this chance to instantly begin making my way back down the stairs and out into the courtyard.

My hope was to head back to where I was before Dimitrescu ambushed me. What I would find though would end up leading to something far better though. In the courtyard, I found three of those Moroaica creatures.

On sight, they instantly attacked and naturally, I retaliated. Raising my handgun and opening fire. The first one went down no problem, when I killed the second though, I noticed something gleaming fall of its body as it hit the ground.

After the third had also been dealt with, my attention to the object dropped. Upon closer inspection, my eyes widened when I noticed it was a KEY! Naturally I picked it up and began analysing it.

(In the context of the story there are two keys. This isn't the one Ethan found.)

I didn't know why one of those Moroaica creatures had a key on them. However the tip of it was very much familiar. I'd seen it on numerous doors within the castle, all of which had been locked. One such door was the very same one Daniela had escaped through after our last encounter.

My first idea was to go right back to that door and follow after her. However just as I placed the key in my pocket, I noticed the second door off the courtyard bore the EXACT symbol I'd referred to earlier, the very one this key should unlock. This turn of events caused me to grin and say "Well isn't that awfully convenient."

Approaching the door, I took the key out of my pocket and inserted it into the door. With a twist, that familiar click was heard and I was able to push it open with ease. Inside I was greeted with another staircase, similar to the other room from the courtyard, I was greeted with a flight of stairs heading upwards.

There was a door off to the right as well however trying to open it revealed it was locked and given there was no way to unlock it from here, I assumed I'd have to do so from the other side.

So up the stairs it was, I went up them and found myself on a corridor. To the right was another locked door, this one had bars over it and a new insignia, between that and the lock, I'd assume I'd need to find another key.

Following this corridor away from the door, I reached the main room to this area of the house. Another sizable hall, this one appeared to be a lounge area of sorts. A few comfy looking chairs were dotted around the room and a large wooden piano in the middle of the room.

I did a quick search of the upper level but found little of interest aside from a few vases, with that out of the way, I began my descent down to the lower level. It was here that the familiar gurgles and growls could be heard.

Looking around, I saw more of those Moroaica monsters, two of them patrolled this lower level and two more emerged from the corridor I'd just been on, I didn't know how I didn't spot them before.

Naturally I reached for my handgun, reloading it from before. I internally cursed myself for letting Ethan keep the shotgun, that would have worked wonders here. Forgetting about that, I opened fire.

The first went down to two headshots. I ducked out of the way of the second as it swung its sword in my direction, causing the blade to become embedded in the wooden stair rail. This left it vulnerable to being shot down as well, also from two handgun rounds to the head.

The third and fourth were similar, the fourth chased me down the stairs before I shot it one in the head and twice in the chest causing it to tumble down the stairs itself. I got some lei from their remains and now was left to continue my search in peace.

There wasn't much to this area aside from what I commented on earlier. I found a door that had a little latch on it. I unlocked it and opened, only to reveal the staircase I went up. This must have been the other side of the door I tried opening earlier.

Turning around, the only other thing to note here was the piano on the other side of this floor. I approached it and studied it. When I was younger my school had a music class, I wasn't an expert, instead focusing on more scientific subjects, but I knew the keys.

I noticed a songbook on the top of it, opened to a specific page. I decided to humour myself and actually began playing the piano, with the songbook as my reference I did my best to mimic the appropriate keys, a light melody began playing, albeit a bit disjointed due to my lack of piano skills.

Once it was complete though, I was surprised when a slot at the top of the piano pinged open revealing yet another key! Much like the last one, this one had an insignia on the top of it, the insignia being identical to the one on that door at the top of the stairs.

With this key in my possession as well, I wasted no time rushing up the stairs, I heard a door opening nearby however I ignored it, I quickly used this second key to unlock the bars, they lifted up to reveal the door.

I pushed it open and found myself stood in a library, quite a sizable one at that. In the ceiling was a large skylight. I slowly stepped into the room when the door suddenly slammed shut behind me. I turned around startled however I instantly knew what was happening when I heard an all too familiar voice.

"We meet again, you'll find I won't be as easy this time around though!"

Author's Note: And that's it for this chapter, it's certainly been a long time coming hasn't it? I'm sorry for not uploading the last two days, I was busy Tuesday and really stressed Wednesday so I couldn't get around to writing. I hope you enjoyed this chapter and as always, thank you for reading.
