Y/N POV
With the upgraded winged key in hand, the second flask in our possession and a final farewell from Donna. Me and Ethan left House Beneviento, making our way back into the mist-covered cavern returning to the village.
Along the way, we were ambushed by a few creatures that resembled the Moroaica in appearance though they seemed slightly different. It didn't really matter though, we fought our way through them, it only took about two or three handgun shots to deal with them. Luckily, we hadn't needed guns in House Beneviento.
We went past the grave that I now knew belonged to a Claudia Beneviento. I muttered "I hope you are at peace." To the grave before we continued into the mist. We crossed the bridge and found more of those creatures. Again though, we only needed our handguns to face them with little trouble.
Eventually, after a short yet uneventful trek, we pushed the double wooden gates leading right back to the circular courtyard where once again, we found the Duke still waiting for us. Upon noticing us coming, that same grin came across his face as he asked. "So, did you both have fun?"
I reached into my coat pocket and held up the second flask saying "Got it." The Duke clasped his hands together in delight as he exclaimed "Ah wonderful! I do hope Miss Beneviento didn't cause you too much trouble."
That's when Ethan stepped up. "She did, but THIS GUY!" He pointed at me, continuing. "Decided we should let her live!" The Duke raised an eyebrow in my direction before saying "That was an unforeseen outcome." He leaned forward and asked "If you don't mind me asking, why? What provoked you to spare her life?"
I sighed and looked down before explaining. "I made a call. I gave her a second chance. There's nothing more to it." I intentionally left out the fact that my discussion with Donna made me feel bad for her. I didn't fully trust the Duke, regardless of the help he'd provided up to now.
The Duke shrugged "Fair enough, I understand your reasoning. If my calculations are correct, that just leaves Moreau and Heisenberg left, yes?" Both me and Ethan nodded with Ethan asking "You said Moreau lived in the reservoirs right? How do we get there?"
A smile spread across the Duke's face once again as he pointed. "Why, it's right over there. I trust you found the necessary components for your key to fit?" Ethan replied "Yeah, we got it." That's when the Duke brought up.
"Might I suggest you store those two flasks over there?" He pointed to the centre of the courtyard. Specifically the stone pedestal where sure enough there were four holes. The Duke stated "It will save you carrying them both around with you and allow you to access them all later on."
Me and Ethan looked to one another before agreeing. Approaching the pedestal, Ethan inserted the 'Head' flask into one of the slots till all that was shown was the Dimitrescu insignia. I did the same with the 'Legs' flask, showing the Beneviento insignia.
Behind us, the Duke said "There you go." We turned back to face him as he said "Before you go, would you be interested in purchasing anything, or selling something?" Ethan said "Sure, lets see what you have."
We browsed the Duke's wares, he didn't have much good in the way of weaponry, just stuff we already had. We did purchase some handgun, shotgun and rifle ammo as well as some first-aid medicine. We had more than enough lei to cover that purchase.
Once business was concluded, the Duke spoke "Thank you for your patronage!" And with that, we were free to go over to the gate on the other side of the courtyard, directly opposite the gate that lead to Donna's home.
Inserting the key into the lock, we found it fit perfectly so with a twist, the latch was released and we managed to push the door open with ease. Now we found ourselves at the top of a staircase overlooking another part of the village, we were about to descend it when something happened.
