Y/N POV

I floated around in the waters of the reservoir for about a few minutes, before I finally managed to regain my composure. I swam upwards and grabbed onto a floating wooden platform and was just about able to pull myself up.

At this point, ad I climbed up onto the platform, I saw Ethan emerge from the water and do the same. I asked "Ethan! You alright?! He nodded and replied "Yeah, what the hell happened though? Where's Chris?"

Before we could think about that more though, the sound of a groan filled the air. Turning to its source, we saw MOREAU slowly scrambling to climb up himself. Ethan exclaimed "Shit! Stay back!" I said nothing, instead placing a hand on my new magnum in case I needed to shoot.

Moreau didn't attack however, instead he just began to slowly walk across the platform. Raising his finger to point at us, saying "You two..." I noticed he was no longer wearing that cloth over his body and I began to understand why he did wear it in the first place.

Growing from his back was a giant tumour, wispy hair-like tentacles sprouting out and flailing all over. I'm pretty sure I could even make out an eye growing from it. The whole mutation caused Moreau to be even more hunched over from before.

Despite his predicament, he still confidently declared "The exit's underwater. You're DONE!" Ethan snapped "I don't have time for this." Moreau began speaking "It's too late. Miranda is already preparing the ceremony!"

As soon as he'd said that, he began retching as Ethan asked "Miranda sent you to slow us down? You're pathetic." I sternly said "Ethan, stop insulting him." Moreau slowly turned to us "Don't be cruel." He lectured.

His eyes fixed on us, holding what honestly seemed like genuine sadness, as he complained "It's not fair! I should be with her! Not you two!" That caused me to raise an eyebrow in confusion as I asked "What do you mean?" Ethan added "What are you talking about?"

Moreau didn't respond and this time began vomiting, all over the floor. Ethan snapped "What the fuck is wrong with you?!" Moreau began staggering about. I calmly said "Moreau, I suggest you stand down. Let us pass." I knew I was likely wasting my time, but it was worth one last go.

Sure enough, he didn't listen and instead gasped out "I- I can't hold it in anymore! Oh God! Oh Mother. Why?" He reached the edge of the platform giving out one final distorted yell "WHY?!" Before he toppled over into the water.

Straight away there was a massive splash of water. I couldn't clearly see what was going on however I knew for sure Moreau had mutated into something far more dangerous.

Looking around, I saw various other wooden structures also half-submerged in the water. Pointing to them, I called out to Ethan "This way!" Ethan nodded and we both hopped up onto a wooden walkway.

We both ran along it and at the end, managed to leap across onto a nearby cliffside. As we walked along it, Ethan said "He said the exit is underwater." I suggested "Then that means we'll have to find a way to drain the reservoir." Ethan nodded "Yeah, but how?"

Our answer came sooner that I'd thought, at the end of the path along this cliff, we found a small shack. Opening the door, straight away we found what appeared to be the controls to the dam. Ethan commented "If we could just release the water..."

He pulled the lever however nothing happened, which made him say "Damn, no power." Looking around, I saw another door leading out of the shack, I pointed and said "Maybe this way, we may find a way to restore the power."

Going through that door, we found another footpath which lead along until we reached yet another wooden walkway connecting to the upper level of one of the windmills. Wasting no time, we got across where we found another crank!
