53- Ryujin

We get to the fake council meeting and the place is empty. We look around and we can't smell anyone or hear anyone.

"Is this the right place?" I ask.

"It should be" Jihyo answers.

"Yeji, do you hear anything?" I turn to look at her but she's not with us anymore.

"Yeji?" I start spinning in circles like she's gonna magically show up.

"Where is she?" I ask the four.

"I don't know. I thought she was walking along with us" my brother says.

"I didn't notice her disappear" Yeonjun adds.

"Yeji!" I call her name.

"Now is not the time to joke around. Come on out!" I say.

I start to panic when she doesn't come out. How could I be careless and not pay attention to make sure she's okay.

'I don't feel good' Rieka tells me.

'What do you mean?' I ask.

'I feel like someone is watching us. Be prepared.'

'We need to find Yeji' I say.

"Your wolf senses danger too?" Somi ask and I nod.

We continue to look for Yeji when someone suddenly lands on my back.

I grab them and throw them on the ground. To my surprise, it's Yeji.

"What are you doing?" I question her but she doesn't answer me and attacks me again.

I block her attacks, making sure not to hurt her.

"What's going on?" I ask Jihyo as I continue to block her attacks.

"Yeji, it's me. What are you doing?" I wrap my arms around her from behind.

She elbows me in the stomach then turns around to punch me in the face.

Beomgyu and Somi gets ready to attack her.

"Stop! Don't hurt her!" I shout.

"She's being controlled" Jihyo announces.

"How? She's the Queen!" Yeonjun exclaims.

"Vampires are still susceptible to magic" Jihyo reminds him.

"They want me to hurt my mate?" I ask.

"I don't know what exactly their plan is but yes they're using Yeji against you" She says.

"Yeji, look at me" I try to hold her still.

She keeps moving her body, trying to break free from me.

"You're my mate. Can you hear me?"

She headbutt me on the nose and I stumble backwards. I groan while holding my nose.

"I'm not gonna fight you" I say, hoping that she will break out of whatever trance she's in.

"I love you, remember? I would never hurt you."

"What are you doing? She's not herself right now" My brother says.

"She's in there" I glance at him then I look at Yeji again, "You love me too, right? Remember, I won you over with my good looks and charming personality."

"Don't joke around, Ryujin" Beomgyu scolds me.

"It's the truth" I glare at him. How dare he question my positive traits.
