"And what Steve has somehow told the school is a lie to so-"
Mike and Dustin looked at eachother, at Eddie,and then at you

"Steve wasn't the one to tell..."
They both said, you looked confused at them,
"It, wasn't Steve? Who was it then?"
You asked, Eddie turning his head slightly on the table to get a better listen
"No...it was Jason"
Dustin said looking over at the basketball table.
Eddie's head slowly came off the table, oh fuck here we go...

He went to stand up but you grabbed his knee and looked at him with a serious face

"Eddie, let them finish , SIT"

He sat back down and put his chin In his hand resting his elbow on the table
"Continue,children"
He said gesturing at Dustin and Mike
"Well...that's it. It was Jason who started the rumour, not Steve"
Dustin replied and Mike nodded along.
"But how the fuck did Jason even find out, it happened at the video store and-"
You stopped, remembering the white trainers poking from behind a video rack...
"What is it?"
They all ask and you just nod looking down at your hands in your lap
"Yeah, their right. It was Jason, he was there at the video store, I saw his shoes but didn't think anything of it. He must've heard everything with Steve"
You explain looking up at Eddie, who surprisingly looked calm,ish

"Don't do anything Eddie, please. You'll get kicked out of school"
You said with a worried tone.
He sighed
"I won't. Doll. Good thing it wasn't Steve, he'd have the worst week of his life"
He smirked at you before shaking his head.

"So. What about Jason?"
Miked asked looking at you then Eddie.
"Nothing. He lives off of this kind of shit, the rumor isn't true, and it'll die down by tomorrow like everything else spread across the school"
You reply, and they nodded.

The end of the day finally came, you walk out down the steps to where Eddie was leaning against the railing lighting a cigarette next to Dustin and Mike on their bikes.
"We all good?"
You asked jumping the last step and landing next to Eddie who nods and blows out smoke away from you
"MUNSON"
A loud voice said behind us, Mr Clarke stood at the top of the stairs glaring down at him
"This is a non smoking area, do that elsewhere"

He ordered before he shooed us away then walking off, Eddie flipped him off behind his back, obviously, and kept smoking,

He walked beside you to his van followed by Dustin and Mike on their bikes, you caught sight of someone in the corner of your eye, you didn't recognise them, and they didn't go to this school...

"Who's that?"
You ask, nodding towards a dirty blond haired mullet looking guy leaning against a pretty good looking Chevrolet Camaro, also smoking , and also getting smiles from girls who walked past him, which in return he looked back checking them out.
