Y/n's POV

I looked down at the ground, holding my ankle with one hand, the other beside me, keeping me up as I leaned on it.

"I helped him, risked my life for him, and he cheated on me and threw me in jail in return." I said, looking up at Zuko.
I sighed, then looked at Aang.
"If it'll help you, then I'm fine with it." I mumbled.

"I won't let you down, I promise." Zuko said to everyone enthusiastically.

Sokka then led Zuko down the hall to a room to unpack. He soon came back out.

"Yeah, this is weird." Sokka said, looking at us.

"Tell me about it." Toph replied sarcastically.

I looked at the girl.

"Hey, Toph?" I asked.

"Yeah?"

"When your feet are better...could you teach me to see with my feet?" I asked, my eyes shining. "If not, could you help me improve my earthbending?"

"I don't see why not." She shrugged. "But if you picked up metalbending as fast as you did, I don't think you need any help."

"I guess that's true." I mumbled, then looked at Aang.

"Ready to start practice?" Zuko asked, entering the room.

"Right now?" Aang asked.

Zuko nodded.

"I'm coming along." I said, walking towards the boys now that my ankle was better.

"Okay!" Aang grinned.

Zuko nodded in response, a small smile on his lips.

I walked past him and stood by Aang.

"Let's go." I said.

We went to a spot away from everyone and anything flamable.

"I know you're nervous, but remember," Zuko began. "Firebending is not something to fear."

Aang sighed.
"Okay. Not something to fear." He mumbled.

"But..." Zuko continued. "If you don't respect it, it'll chew you up and spit you out like an angry komodo rhino!" He shouted.

Aang gasped, seeming more nervous than before.

I stepped up.

"It's as natural as the other bending you can do, Aang." I said to him. "Any of the elements can be destructive if used the wrong way. Just look at Toph's earthbending." I said, snickering.

Aang held back a laugh.

"I guess you're right." He said, standing straighter.

"Show me what you got." Zuko said to him. "Any amount of fire you can make."

Aang punched the air, but nothing happened.

"Maybe I need a little more instruction." He said, looking down.

"Or a demonstration." I suggested.

"Good idea." Zuko said. "You might want to take a couple steps back." He said, getting into position.

He drew in a deep breath, then punched the air, only a small amount of fire coming out.

Aang clapped.

Zuko look frustrated.

He tried again several times, only small amounts coming out.

"Hah! What was that?" I asked. "Alright, my turn." I said, cracking my knuckles.

"What?" He asked.

"You might want to take a step back this time." I said, taking my stance.

I began to repeat the movements I had seen on my firebending scroll long ago, the fire dancing around me.

It soon disappeared.

"Now that's how it's done." I grinned.

He stared at me.

He then slowly reached into his robe, pulling out a set of scrolls.

My eyes widened.

"Thats--!" My eyes moved back and forth, looking at him and then the scrolls.

"I held onto them for you." He said. "...Uncle told me a long time ago. "

I shook my head.

"I can bend all four elements like Aang can." I said.
How is he so calm?!

"That's..." He looked at me, then the scrolls. "...incredible, Y/n." He said, looking back at me.

I blinked.

"Excuse me?" I asked.

"I think it's incredible that you're like Aang. I don't know how it's possible, but it's amazing." He said, looking me in my eyes as he spoke.

"No." I said, shaking my head. "You shouldn't be saying that! You shouldn't be praising me!" I shouted. "You should be angry I never told you!"

I punched the air in his direction, fire blasting towards him. He easily dodged out the way.

"Why?!" I shouted, teary eyed.
I punched the air again, blasting more fire towards him.
"Why won't you just stop already?! Why would you keep the scrolls?!"

I stomped on the ground, a big rock flying into the air. I then kicked it, it flying towards Zuko.

"I know I've made mistakes. But I still care, Y/n." He said.

He was easily dodging everything I threw at him.

I fell onto my knees, sobbing.

"You had me thrown in jail...and then moved on like I meant nothing." I looked up at him. "How can you call that caring?"

He sighed, looking at the poor confused Aang and then me.

"I didn't move on. Father had me attend a social event, and it was required I bring a date, so Mai was my best choice given her high social standing." He explained. "I could never move on that easily from you, Y/n."

Suddenly, I became embarrassed.

"B-but the guard said-!" I began, then thoug ht about it for a second. "...he was just trying to rile me up, wasn't he?" I asked, looking at him.

He nodded his head.

I'm such an idiot.

"I need to go!" I shouted, jumping to my feet and taking off running.

"Wait-" Zuko began.

"Let her go." Aang said. "Just give her some time."
