If there's one activity that Risa hated that would be called party. She'd rather go and spend time with her bed than to stay in a place full of drunk people.
She wanted to get out and go home, but as her friend, Annie says "This is our reunion party, you have to enjoy until the last" which she nonchalantly replied "This reunion doesn't even feel like reunion! It's full of sweaty and nonsensical people!"
Well, she was exagerating. 'Cause the truth is, it's a semi formal party which means no sweaty people. Can't blame her though, she hates parties! Or maybe she's afraid in this certain party.
"Hey, 3'oclock" Annie whispers looking far from the target
"O'clock what?" Risa said, looking confused at what her friend just said which was then answered with an eyeroll
"I said 3'oclock"
"I heard you. But what's wrong with 3'oclock?"
"Oh my gosh, Risa! Are you really that slow? Look at your 3'oclock and then you'll know" Annie said, throwing her hands on the sky, which was then followed with another grunt as she sees her friend still confused face.
"Look, I'm sorry but you know I don't do well with clocks so just better tell me what is it"
"Fine! Look at your right, Fion is here" Annie said, which immediately sent chills to Risa's body.
And yup, one of the reason why she hates to be in this party is because of a certain blonde which was now black since he dye his hair.
"That's it, I'm gonna go" Risa said and immediately pack her belongings
"What?! No way! Come on! We only see each other like once or thrice a year. You know how college life is so please just forget that he's here and enjoy the rest of the party"
"You know very well that I can't be together with him in the same room. Everything will just turn out a disaster!"
"Oh please, you're just exagerating!"
"Exagerating!? That guy probably thinks that I'm a stalker!"
"That guy is your friend"
"Ex-friend!"
Risa realized that she might have said it out loud when she see all the familiar faces looking strangely at her now.
"Risa?"
And just when she thoughts things couldn't get any better, she hears the familiar voice of the person she's currently inlove of.
"Oh fuck! He's coming this way with his new found friend" Annie whispered which made Risa flinch
"Risa, it really is you! What are you doing here?" Maeve asked, so happy to see her best friend in the reunion party.
"You two know each other?" Fion asked, shifting his eyes from Maeve to Risa.
"Oh shit!" Risa said, barely whispering. She can't believe this is happening. Well, she can't even believe any of this happening
"What's wrong? Who's the hot brunette?" Annie whisper too close for Maeve's liking.
"She's the one I told you about. The woman I'm in love with" Risa whisper back, too close that anyone who see them from afar would think that they were flirting or kissing each other.
"So, Risa what are you doing here?" Maeve asked, cutting the two from their whispering
"Huh? Uh.." Risa couldn't even say a single word properly. She's not scared but she's nervous and she doesn't even know why. Maybe because of the certain black hair or maybe because of the brunette. Well, the truth is she's nervous because of the two.
Annie couldn't take the awkward silence anymore so she did what she thought is the best, she nudge Risa's elbow quite strongly, making sure that her friend is able to wake up from the trance she's in
"Well, uh. I'm here for the reunion? How about you? A plus one?"
Finally, Risa was able to make coherent words and did not embarrass the two of them. Though it did take a lot of courage, knowing that Fion is looking at her.
"No, I'm here for the reunion too. I studied at Melford back in freshmen year. Can't believe you did too."
"Oh, wasn't able to see you at school really. Maybe because I transferred at Coron University back in my junior days. Per parent's request."
"So, you two know each other?"
Just when Risa almost forgot his existence, the guy just had to cut them off and say something.
"Well, yes. She's my best friend!" Maeve said proudly
"What? Oh, so now you're replacing me?" Annie said with a hint of teasing in her voice which Risa replied with an eyeroll.
"Oh please, don't be so dramatic!"
"So, how about you two? You knew each other?" Maeve asked, directing her question towards Fion, but before the guy could answer and before Risa could stop her friend, Annie beat them to it.
"Oh, back then she was Risa's crush. The girl is so madly in love back then that she couldn't even see other peope except Fion"
"Annie!" Risa shouted, she couldn't believe that her friend just said that in front of the woman she loves and in front of Fion for all sakes!
"What? Oh, please! That was all in the past, Fion now has a girlfriend and you already moved on. What's there to be so worked up on?"
"Well, you didn't have to broadcast it to other people! You could have simply said that we're ex friends and then that's it"
"Now, there you are guys!" Before Annie could even reply, she was already cut off by a fine looking young man
"Hey, bro. Where you've been?" Fion asked clicking the wine glass the guy had with his own.
"Just had to talk about some engineering stuff with some people. Who are these two beautiful ladies?" The guy said, shifting his eyes from Annie and Risa
"Oh, they are my classmates back then. This is Risa and her friend, Annie and guys, this is Greg my college pal. I want to give you his nunber, but he's already taken" Fion said, introducing the three of them to each other.
"Well, it's nice to meet you ladies" Greg said offering his hand to shake
"It's also nice to meet you, Greg. You look handsome tonight" Risa said accepting the handshake.
"So, who's the girlfriend?" Annie asked, curious as to who's the girl that we're able to capture his heart.
"Well, that would be, the beautiful woman here" Greg said, holding the waist of the now silent Maeve.
"Right, babe?" Greg said, trying to get the attention of Maeve who's now looking nervously at Risa.
"Ye-yes. Risa, Greg is the one I told you about. He's my boyfriend for 3 months now" Maeve said, confirming the truth.
"Well, damn" Annie said in a whisper but still enough for Risa to hear it. And for the first time in this night, Risa agreed to her friend. It is well damn.
