Another week has passed ever since Brian and Annie persuade Risa to sing for the café and though the latter wanted it to be a one time thing, she can't deny the fact that she enjoyed it so she told Brian that she's willing to sing every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at the café.
Risa is glad that she was able to express her emotions to the song 'cause truth be told she can't exactly explain what she's feeling to her friends, but she sure can relate to songs so she ended up using her gig as a way of get out from all unnecessary negative feelings. She's also grateful how the customer doesn't pay attention at her that much. They listen, but they don't bother and it's another reason why Risa wanted to sing on the café. Well, she sure gained some few fans from here and there and it might have been awkward at first, but she's getting used to it.
With her guitar, she strummed another tune for another song, which excites a few Koreans and some people who knew K-pop. Who wouldn't be excited when the all too familiar song of Seventeen from their album Heng:garae engulf the room. This time, Risa will sing an English version of Seventeen's song 'I Wish'
~ Because I think of you sometimes, I cry or just laugh. Me, who's trying hard to erase you. Because my heart has been hurt too much, I have never brought this up. Have I come to understand myself this time? ~
Risa can't help but look back at her feelings for the certain brunette. She knew very well she needs to move on, but what can she do when her heart is being stubborn and won't even listen to what her brain is trying to say?
~ I send a letter that won't ever arrive to you ~
Risa remember how all of her text messages are ignored by Maeve like it didn't even arrive at all. It hurts Risa to know that Maeve didn't even bother to asked if she was okay nor if she arrived safely that night. Hell, the woman didn't even cared to message or call her these past few weeks. Did she really even care at all? What happened to the promise she made with Risa back then? That nothing will ever change between them?
Risa is tired. She's tired of crying every single night and assuring herself that everything's fine between them. That Maeve was just too busy with school works. But who is she kidding again? She knew very well that nothing is fine and that their friendship is about to come to an end.
~Is it impossible for me to wish for a piece of your day that I have never had~
Memories starts flashing on Risa's mind. The memories of the friendship she created with Maeve. How it started and how it's going. And oh boy, how it hurt so much! There's a piece of her that regretted the confession she made.
~ I really wish for you to see all of my dreams. I wish for us to be able to get hurt together every hour. And even though you wont know how I think of you every single day throughout the many seasons~
She's afraid. Afraid of what might come between them. Risa wants to cry but she can't. What would the people think about?
~I blamed myself for even the smallest love. Because I was overflowing with countless emotions. Because everything is a huge happiness for me. As if nothing's wrong, I am really hurt~
"I am not like Fion, so you're stuck with me" those words from Maeve repeated like a mantra on Risa's mind. And she can't help but to let a lone tear escape her eyes. It's a wrong move to look at the audience though, because the first person she saw is none other than Fion who's staring at her with so many questions. Nonetheless, Risa manage to gave the guy a genuine smile.
Risa looked at Fion's surroundings. She remember that Brian said that the guy had a son, so she wanted to see how cute the little boy is. Not even a minute when a lady holding a little boy who seems to be her son approached Fion and gave a peck on the latter's cheeks. Risa can't help but to smile at the sight. She might have a huge crush on Fion during freshmen years in high school but seeing the guy contented and happy makes her heart celebrate.
Risa's song finished right after Fion and his family got their seats. That was supposed to be the last song, but Risa wants to deliver a message. A song she genuinely make for Fion and his girlfriend.
"Thank you everyone for coming tonight" Risa said, addressing all the customers who enjoyed the vibe of the cafe
"I'm not gonna lie, that was supposed to be the last song. But I just saw a friend of mine and wanted to sing this song I've made for him and his girlfriend. I know we had a fall out, but I just want you to know that I'm so happy you've found your happiness. Enjoy the rest of the night with your family. You already know who you are" Risa said, looking at Fion which earned a small smile from the latter.
"You've been looking at her since we enter the cafe. Do you know her?" Lilian asked her boyfriend who can't seem to look away from the girl on stage.
"I've told you about her before. She's Risa" Fion answered her girlfriend truthfully
"Oh, the one who had a huge crush on you back then. You're the one she's singing a song for?" Lilian asked. Part of her is jealous, but she trust her boyfriend so much to dwell on such jealousy. Fion looked at her and a smile creep into his face
"No. She's singing for the both of us"
Fion must have noticed the confuse look of his girlfriend so he added.
"She's genuinely happy for us, Lilian"
~ I have to say all of these words to you. That I am happy that you have found someone who can bring smile to your lips and give you warmth, but also remember hey what's up beauty I'm still your friend~
The first lyrics boomed inside the premises. The lyrics is so genuine that some customer's can't help their awws. Even Annie who's been assigned as a waitress tonight halt from her steps to make sure she listen to the song she never knew her friend had made a song for Fion.
~ Don't you ever forget that I'll be there for you, turning on jazz, gentle kiss, I'll sing this song. A piece of advice, don't hurt each other with words, make sure you will be honest with each other~
Fion can't understand how he feels. It's been so long since someone supported the relationship he had with his girlfriend. His family, friends and even exes ridicule him for staying by the girl's side which he doesn't even understand.
~ And to the beautiful person who have captured my friend's heart, treasure them with all of your great love ~
Risa sing gracefully while shifting her eyes towards Lilian.
Lilian on the other side, let a lone tear escape from her eyes. She sure as hell didn't like Fion's exes and friends, and she knew how Risa could be a threat to her relationship with Fion and to her family, but hearing the melodic song and the genuine voice from Risa made her feel like she's about to meet a new friend. A friend who would not leave her because she's pregnant or because of choosing family before college. A friend whom she knew she would treasure with all her heart.
~ Be there for each other, kiss each other proudly, don't be afraid to shout your love to the whole world ~
The lyrics made Fion kissed Lilian on her temple and kissed his son, Leo on his cheeks. The sight made Risa feel proud and genuinely happy for her friend.
~ No matter what, I'll be there for both of you, I'll always support you and I'll always be a friend of you ~
One last strum from Risa's guitar and the song had come to its end. The beautiful performance earned a loud cheers and applause from the people. Annie also can't help, but to shed a tear and Brian is just there standing, looking so proud at his friend. Maybe, just maybe, the four of them can still work it out together.
