"Hey, Maeve. Long time no see!" Avery said before settling herself in front of the latter.

"Hey, how you've been?"

The two planned to meet up at a resto to have lunch and to also catch up with each other.

"Ugh! I think I'm about to fucked up my love life" Avery complained, picking the menu.

After the waiter got their orders, they immediately resume to what they're talking

"And why is that?"

"Because! She's ignoring my messages after she found out that I went to the bar 2 weeks ago instead of doing my project in Biology which got me a C minus so yah" Avery explained, which earned a confused look from Maeve

"W-wait. She?" Maeve asked for confirmation.

"Oh. You didn't know? I'm gay"

Maeve almost choked on her water. She didn't really expect for Avery to be gay. It made her remember a certain morena whom she's still avoiding and don't even ask her why 'cause she herself didn't have an answer to that question.

" Oh. Didn't really notice. Anyway, is she a control freak?" Maeve asked pertaining to Avery's girlfriend.

"Nah. She's more of like concern about my future. Can't blame her though, I'm the one who asked her to show me the right way whenever I got lost"

Maeve stayed silent for she didn't know what to say. Thankfully, Avery decided to come up with another topic.

"Anyway, how's the hottie?"

"Hottie?" Maeve asked, confused about the question.

"You know, the hot one you brought at the bar with you 2 weeks ago" Avery clarifies and oh boy! That's not exactly a topic Maeve wants to talk about.

"Guess, she's doing fine. I don't really know. Why you asked? Got some eyes on her?" Maeve asked, which earned a laugh from her friend

"No. Not really. But if I'll be honest, I would be head over heels for her if I didn't have a girlfriend already." Avery said while the waiter placed their order on the table. They mumbled a small thanks before Avery proceed on what she's about to say.

"Anyways, I'm just worried. Heard that she got harassed at the bar where we left her"

The sound of loud clinking of utensils catch Avery's attention.

"H-h-harassed?" Maeve asked with her lips trembling.

"Oh. You didn't know? I'm sorry I thought you knew 'cause Greg was the one who delivered the news"

Maeve could no longer focus on her food. The word harrassed keeps replaying on her head like a broken tape. And then it hit her. Why Risa complained when she said they're going at the club, the memories of drugs on drinks, hospital, the scars, and the almost rape that happened. She remembered it all, making her feel like she wants to puke. Because how could she!? How could she drag Risa on the bar filled with people whom she's not comfortable with and to top it off, she just fucking left her best friend at the bar. A place that for Risa is filled with fearful memories.

"Hey, you're okay? what's wrong? You're crying. Did I say something?" Avery asked, concerned to see Maeve's  situation.

"Fuck! I think I just fucked up my friendship"

Now all of it comes together. Why there's no texts nor calls from Risa. At first Maeve was relieved to not receive any news from her best friend because she's also dealing with the unknown feelings she's been feeling these days, but knowing what happened made her feel like a bitch who doesn't even care at all. Oh, how she wants to beat her boyfriend for keeping this matter.

"I-I'm sorry, but I think I have to go" Maeve said, gathering all her things. She didn't even wait for Avery to answer she just run towards her car

"Fuck! fuck! fuck! Fuck you bitch! How could you!? How could you do that to her!? Fuck!" Maeve cussed, punching her steering wheel. She hated herself for being such a bitch, but it's not like she can go back to the past and change her actions.

After driving at a maximum speed because who cares about the law when you just found out your best friend got harassed and it's all because of you. Maeve didn't even know how she manage to arrived at Risa's condo unit when she's not really on her right mind to drive to begin with. But fuck that! She needs to see Risa right here and then.

Maeve didn't even bother to knock. She knew Risa's password anyway and if it didn't work, she has a spare key.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, gays and aliens, that's how much Risa trust Maeve only for the latter to jeopardize that trust but then again, it's not like she's not aware of it.

"Ris!" Maeve called out, but no one answered

"Baby, where are you?" she didn't even knew why the endearment escape from her lips. All she's focused is to see her best friend.

"Risa!" Another call and another silence. Maeve checked all the rooms and even the bathroom, but there's no Risa in sight.

She texted and called many times, only to receive another silence. She's worried, yes but it's clear as the day that she's more afraid on how Risa would look at her.

She left a final message saying, "I'll be waiting until you come home. I'll prepare dinner for us" with a single heart emoji on the end.

And so she prepared Risa's favorite meal, chicken. After she's done all that's left is the waiting and oh how she hated it. She keeps convincing herself that Risa would come home. But will she? It's already midnight yet there's still no sight of Risa inside the condo. Is she hungry? Yes. But she refuses to eat, still telling herself to wait for Risa to come home so they could have dinner together.

"Where are you, Risa? Baby please, I'm sorry" she mumbled before she fell asleep sniffing Risa's scent that still lingers on morena's bed.

And that's when Maeve knew, she really fucked up.

On the other side, Risa didn't even have time to looked at her phone. She figured she won't have to used it anyway. She's too busy playing with Leo, catching up with Fion, knowing Lilian more and singing few songs at the cafe. By the time the cafe closes, she decided to crash on Brian's crib for another night. Well, since Brian's crib have so many rooms, he offered for the whole group to just move in, which they happily accepted. Now all that's left is for Risa to get her things on her condo.
