It was 16th of October. A month had already passed ever since Risa saw her best friend, Maeve cried for the first time. And a month had also passed ever since she saw how Maeve didn't hesitate to kissed Greg right after she went out of their classroom. Yes ladies and gentlemen, gays and all the binary people around the world, Risa saw it all. I repeat, it is not a drill, Risa did saw it all.It hurt! It hurt like hell, but who is she to question her best friend's choices? It was also clear as hell that Maeve and Greg were back with each other after a day had passed since their break up. Who wouldn't know when the both of them broadcast it all over the world by posting on their social media how the two love each other.
Even Annie knows about it, but when she saw how her best friend, Risa was trying to hold all the tears, she never did comment about her being the right one nor insisting for Risa to move on. She cant, because she knew that right at this moment, Risa, herself knew she have to let go.
But letting go is not as easy as counting one, two, and three nor reciting the alphabet. It was harder than most have imagine. Nevertheless, Risa was beyond thankful for Leo becoming a good distraction.
At some point, Risa had asked the brunette why did she welcome the cheater again in her life, only for the latter to respond 'it's none of your business.' To say that Risa was hurt is an understatement. She was beyond broken, like a glass that was shattered into pieces, she was tampered. But it's not like she can say something about it. After all, the two are not in relationship with each other. So what Risa did was set aside her feelings together with her phone and focused more on her life and the friends that are beside her ever since.
On the other hand, Maeve always felt like she's missing something. Well, deep inside her, she knew what she's missing, she just refused to acknowledge it.
She admit that she felt bad when she told Risa that it was none of her business when the latter asked her why she decided to give the bastard a second chance. Because, it was her business! Maeve knew that Risa had the right to know why because after all, she was the one who was there the night it happened. Risa was the one who comforted her and made her feel better so part of her hated herself for being such a bitch to the person who didn't do anything but to love her.
"Everything okay?" Avery asked the brunette who's looking solemnly outside the window. It was a rainy afternoon and she can't help but to remember a certain morena who confessed to her in one rainy afternoon nor the memories of them dancing and their almost kiss under the rain.
"Of course, everything's fine." Maeve replied with a timid smile. No, everything's not fine and Avery knew it. Ever since Maeve and Greg got back together, Avery can't help but notice the changes that happened towards her friend. The brunette no longer smile that often and she always look bothered.
"Hey, honey" Greg came out of nowhere and kissed his girlfriend's cheeks.
"Another hickey" is what Maeve said to herself as she looks at her boyfriend's neck.
"So, how's Risa?" Avery asked as she doesn't want to prolong the presence of the bastard. She figured that if they talk about Risa then the guy would go to the room and play mobile games in his phone.
The question put a frown into Maeve's face. It's a question she didn't want to answer at all because who is she kidding? It's been a month since the two had heard from each other. Maeve had once went in Risa's condo and waited until her best friend come home, but when she noticed how it was all just an empty space and that the unit is now open for rent she can't help but feel hurt. Like she have lost something important in her life. She decided to rent the unit though since it was a room full of their memories together.
"Risa? Ooohh you mean the disgusting gay best friend of my honey." Greg said, which shocked both of them
"You outed your best friend to your boyfriend? Did she even consent to this?" Avery asked in shock and of much disappointment.
"Oh please! Who cares about consent? She's not here. It doesn't matter" Greg said, making Avery clench her fist ready to punch the smug look printed on the bastard's face.
"Greg, you said you have something important to do with your father. I think you should go now"
"You're pretty right! Thanks for reminding me honey" Greg replied, blowing a kiss towards her girlfriend before he walk out of the room.
"I can't believe you!" Avery said with much disappointment after Greg was nowhere out of sight
"Oh please, Avery! Don't be so dramatic!"
"Dramatic!? She's your best friend!" Avery can't help but to shout at her friend this time.
"Risa is not my best friend okay!? She's nothing!! I don't even want her as my best friend so please keep it in your freaking mind that nothing will happen to us nor I care whatever happens to her because she's nothing but a disgusting gay!" Maeve shouted, throwing words she didn't mean. But she can't help it, Avery keeps on pushing her to understand her feelings towards Risa and she was afraid, she was afraid that Avery might be right after all so she decided to throw words she didn't even mean.
"Well, I'm sorry that I'm a disgusting gay"
The voice made Maeve realized what she have just said. The tears that are threatening to fall from the morena's eyes made her regret it all. She want the time to go back. No, she desperately need it to go back. She can't take the sight. The eyes that held so much sorrow and hurt, she never want to see it nor did she want to be the cause of it.
"R-Ri-Risa"
"I'm sorry. I came here because it's 16th of October and wanted to give this present to you as well as to greet you a happy friendship anniversary. I guess, I came at the wrong moment? Anyway, I'll just leave it here" Risa was proud that she didn't stutter and slowly put a rose and the stuffed animal in the couch before she bow down and hastily walk out of the room.
"You're losing something big here, Evey" Avery said with gritted teeth.
It took a few minutes before the brunette had realized what happened. She can't help but to puke in her bathroom. She was disgusted with herself. She can't believe those words came straight from her lips. How could she do that to someone who was always there for her!?
Tears suddenly fall down without her knowing. She was left all alone in her own house, waiting for someone to come back, but it didn't happen. And the worst thing is, Maeve knew that no one will come back.
