"You've been acting really strange these days, Maeve. Just tell me what happened" Avery asked her friend who didn't even bother to reply to her and only continue cutting her nails.
"There's nothing wrong" the brunette denied because she herself doesn't even know what's wrong. She feels off and feel like she's missing something.
"Really? Last month you were still all smile and always hanging out with Risa but after the night you told me you'll see her performance you suddenly became off. Tell me, is it trouble in paradise?"
Maeve can't help the blush that escaped her face. It's true though, after the night where the two of them dance under the pouring rain and sang a duet, she find it hard to look at her best friend in the eyes and for some reason she feels like she'll be uncomfortable if they spend time together so she purposely ignore the morena. But feeling uncomfortable is not the case though. She just really doesn't have a single clue about her feelings at all
"There's no trouble in paradise. Greg and I are fine"
"You know very well I'm not talking about you and Greg. I'm talking about you and the certain morena"
Avery counterfeit, leaving the brunette with no answer. She decided to not answer at all. The least she want to do is to talk about her gorgeous best friend. Why do you think she's ignoring her? Of course, it is so she could not think about her and let her heart breath for some time.
"I had to go now. Thanks for letting me borrow your notes" Maeve said, gathering all of her things. She still need to catch up with her school works so there's really no time to slack off. Plus, there's Greg. It's always Greg.
"Uh-huh. Are you meeting up with the hottie?"
"Stop calling my best friend a hottie like you're about to flirt with her and no, I'm meeting up with my boyfriend. It's been so long since we met"
'Of course! You're so hang up with spending time with your girl that you forgot you already have a boyfriend' is what Avery wants to say, but she decided to just shut her mouth and see the girl outside her house.
Even though Maeve thinks that there's no time to slack off, she still decided to have a detour in her boyfriend's apartment. It's been so long since they spend time together and she didn't even notice that they haven't contacted each other for more than 2 weeks. She figured that the guy didn't really like clingy girls so she didn't really mind it. Now she's planning to surprise her boyfriend with some tiramisu, she didn't even know why she bought some. It's not like her boyfriend is fond of sweets, it's even quite the opposite. But as what Avery had just said, something's off with her so she decided with that excuse and drive towards her boyfriend's apartment. What she didn't know though is that she bought it while thinking about a certain morena, but it's not like she's gonna admit to that.
It was supposed to be a surprise for her boyfriend; a pleasant surprise at that. But what she didn't know is that she would be the one who would be surprised. And it's not even a romantic surprise or even just a good surprise. It was literally the worst surprise. Who wouldn't be surprised when she saw her boyfriend in the arms of another girl, butt naked. With his dick still inside of the bitch's vagina.
'Forget. Erase' is what Maeve's mind says, but who can forget such thing!? And to top it all, the bastard didn't even stop until he cums inside the girl. 'Oh, God' how Maeve hope the girl was on pills. The girl look like she's still in her senior year in high school, of course, she doesn't want the bitch to get pregnant. For some reason, she's more concern on the girl's future, but it doesn't mean that it didn't hurt.
She can hear Greg calling her with an endearment she never even wanted. She didn't look back, afraid that she might puke if she did. How could he!? After she gave her everything to him, even her innocence, he go and find other girl to fuck around! She can't take it. She wanted to breath, but how? She needed an escape and so she drive from where she first thought of.
The night breeze of September send chills all over Risa's body. It's already been a month, but she still wasn't able to move at Brian's crib. It was supposed to be right before August ends, but she had been busy at school and her mind is really out somewhere. Ever since the night that Maeve almost kissed her, the latter had once again ignore her and she can't help but felt like she's the wrong one. She's not, she keep telling herself that, but her mind had always been thinking all the worst things. And so she promise to already move on from her lingering feelings towards the brunette and start meeting new people.
Her thoughts had been snapped when she heard a loud knock from her condo unit. She almost cussed at the person outside, she can't help it, she's always been the type of person who flinch at every little thing. She was glad she didn't say the cuss word though because the person outside her door is none other than her best friend, Maeve.
The brunette didn't even waste time and hug Risa as soon as she open the door. She can't handle the pain, the memory is still fresh in her mind. Like a broken record that keeps on replaying on repeat. Risa didn't know why the person she love is crying in front of her. She doesn't have a single clue, but one thing is for sure. Her heart feels like it broke into two as she see the big tears dropping from Maeve's eyes. Truth be told, for so many years they have been together, this is the first time Risa had ever saw her best friend cry. 'Just what the hell happened?' is what she wanna ask, but that's not really important right now.
"Let's go inside. I'll prepare you some hot cocoa"
"No, don't go please. Just hold me"
And that's exactly what Risa did. She laid her best friend on the bed and hold her tight, covering Maeve with her duvet. After an hour of crying and sobbing, the brunette finally calm down and shared the story to Risa. Of course, this made the morena clench her fist and remember to teach the guy a lesson. But Maeve could read her and warned her not to do anything that's reckless.
That night, they decided to have another sleepover and as Maeve rest her head on top of Risa's chest, she unconsciously clench her best friend's shirt. 'why is it not beating so loud like before?' she wants to ask but figure she's in no position to ask that. All night she waited for her best friend's heart to beat louder just like before, but it never did and so she fell asleep with a lone tear escaping from her eyes.
