"Mommy, are they having sex?" the little boy innocently asked her mother who immediately flinch and cover her son's eyes and looked at the other two girls who now realized that they are in an intimate position.

And the little boy's innocent question is all it takes to put an awkward air between the two best friends.

Risa wanted to laugh and clarify things to the little boy, but she felt how Maeve flinch and try to wiggle her way out from her best friend's warmth. Risa also noticed the disgust look that the little boy's mother had given to the both of them which made Risa unconsciously clench her fist.

Before it gets more awkward, a melodic voice called Risa and the latter couldn't have been happier for the distraction.

"I didn't think I'd see you here"

"Same as you. But I'm so happy to see you here, Brian" Risa sincerely said to her friend. Brian's melodic voice really did help her from the mother's scrutinizing gaze.

Maeve was so confused of who were the guy is, but she's more uncomfortable of how the little boy's mother looks at them still with a disgust on her face and that's when Maeve let out the word that confused and hurt Risa more than she'd ever knew.

"H-hey Brian, why are you so late dude!? Your girlfriend, Risa here is so annoying. She cheated in our game and tickles me 'till I can't breath" Maeve said emphasizing the words girlfriend and tickle, making sure that the mother of the little boy heard it. She didn't even knew why the mother is still standing right in front of them, she wants to yell mind your own damn business woman but she's too scared for that.

On the other hand, Risa's jaw almost fall from the words that come out from her best friend's mouth. Sure, she understand that Maeve probably wants to explain the intimate position earlier, but she could have just say it without the girlfriend part.

"Oh, she's n-"

Before Brian could deny the girlfriend part, Risa already cling to him like a koala and go with Maeve's decleration

"Yes, babe. Why are you so late? I missed you. Maeve is no fun!"

She didn't know why, but hearing those endearment coming from Risa's mouth and how she see the latter's eye filled with hurt made Maeve's heart sting. She's confused and bothered and probably angry?

Risa didn't mean to say the endearment, but when she saw how uncomfortable Maeve is, she just can't help but say those words. The last thing she wants to see is for her best friend to be uncomfortable when they're together.

Meanwhile Brian is like a deer caught in red light. He's so confused on what's happening and it's not even helping that he can feel this eerie mood between the three of them. The mother and son had left already right after Risa blurted the endearment.

"H-hey, what's happening? I didn't walk in a war, right?" Brian whisper so closed to Risa's ears that it made shivers down her spine. When Maeve sees it, she had already strangle the guy in her mind.

"N-no, just go with the flow. Please" Risa begs and it almost feel like she's about to burst and just cry it all out. Brian is no fool to not see this so he assured his friend that he's there by squeezing Risa's hand and let out his most charming smile.

"I'm so sorry babe that I'm late, but if it make you feel better, how about a date tonight?"

The date part maybe a lie but Risa knew Brian really want to meet with her tonight. So she answer with a smile and a firm nod, afraid that if she say another word she would literally cry.

"Okay then. See you at the usual place? Don't worry, I'll prepare everything." Brian said before giving a peck on Risa's cheek which made the latter feel relaxed.

Risa didn't need to ask where the usual place is. She already knew where it is.

When Brian left, the silence engulf the two best friend once again. It was so intense that it could almost cut through the air. Risa hated it. She likes children, but the child just literally ruin their moment. Not that she blames the child for it, but she sure wants to give the mother an earful, but who is she kidding? Even if she did, the mother would probably just end up blaming her for being a gay. And she didn't even do such lewd thing with her best friend for pete's sake! It could have been explained! But no! People are just so excited to throw their judgemental gaze towards other people that they just conclude
