"Hey, how have you been?" Avery asked to her friend, Maeve who looks like a mess.
Avery admits that she was disappointed for hurting Risa so much, but she can't deny the fact that she's sorry for the girl herself. Maeve was confused and in denial, and though its not enough reason for Maeve to act like a bitch towards Risa, the girl decided to let her friend take a breath.
"I don't really know" came Maeve's silent reply.
She felt lost ever since Risa was out of her sight and up to this day, she keeps having nightmares that didn't seem to leave just yet. She's having insomnia, and all she wants is to be in her best friend's arms but it doesn't look like its going to happen soon. She also admitted the feelings she have for Risa to herself, and even if she's afraid that it might be too late she still took her shot last night but at the end of the day, she got nothing. She knew that Risa was staying at the Casancho's building, but her friend Anni was just too hard to please and keep on telling Maeve that she should leave.
"The event's about to start. Let's go together the coliseum." Avery said, grabbing Maeve who's mind went somewhere.
"I don't need to be here Ave! Why don't we just go to Casancho's building, please?" Maeve plead once again. It has been like this between them for the entire three weeks. Maeve asking Avery to bring her to Casancho's building so that she'll be able to see Risa. Maeve knew very well that all of Risa's friends hates her and thay Avery have bonded with them in several occasions that's why she think that if Avery's with her they will let Maeve talk to Risa.
"I promise, I'll take you right after this event Evey. So be a good girl and stay." Avery said, earning a determine nod from Maeve.
Even though the squad have told her that she shouldn't bring Maeve in the Casancho's building, Avery's guilt would kill her if she wont say a single word about Risa leaving. Maeve deserved to know.
"Ladies and gentlemen and all the aliens that are gathering here, I'm so glad that you made it. Of course, who wouldn't want to missed the amazing performance of one of the Leviosa's top performer right? Are you all excited?" The host announced which made the crowd scream. Maeve's heart was thumping so loud when she heard the host said the cafe she used to see her best friend performing. The loud beating of her heart can't even compare to the loud screaming of the crowd.
"Now, I wont hold you on for so long. Because just like you, I'm excited to see these amazing people perform on this stage. Let's give it up for the one and only, Risa Saavedra! Together with her friends; Fion Salvador, Brian Casancho, and Annie Meldred!" The crowd welcomed the band with loud cheers. It made Risa felt overwhelmed that these people knew her. She searched for the crowd and see Maeve looking at her with unreadable eyes. Regret, pain, longing? Risa can't really tell and she doesn't want to care. She shifted her eyes to the crowd of students who's calling her name and smiled a bit.
"Hey guys, it's nice to see you all gathered here. Thank you Delvis University for inviting me and my friends here. Now, as you all know I'm a big Swiftie so I'll be singing one of Taylor Swift's songs. This song is a song I could really relare onto and I hope you guys would like it. Also, before I start, I'm inviting everyone to go at Leviosa's cafe right after the event. I'll be announcing something there" Risa said and strum her guitar then give her friends the sign.
The crowd cheer as they hear the all too familiar intro of one of Taylor Swift's song. Risa smiled at this and searched for the brunette once again. When emerald eyes met blue ones, none of them look away.
~ I used to think one day, we'd tell the story of us how we met and sparks flew instantly. And people would say they're the lucky ones~ Risa sang the intro of Taylor Swift's 'The Story of Us' that made the crowd cheer louder.
~ I used to know my place was the spot next to you, now I'm searching the room for an empty seat 'cause lately I don't even know what page you're on~
Risa sang with utmost feeling, never leaving the blue eyes. Maeve on the other hand doesn't know what to feel. All she knew that she wants to go up the stage and hug Risa.
~ Oh, a simple complication, miscommunication leads to fall out. So many things that I wish you knew, so many walls up I can't break through~
There are times where Risa can't really understand her bestfriend. There are times when Maeve show her that the girl was starting to reciprocate her feelings but only to be shattered with the girl's sudden coldness.
~Now, I'm standing alone in a crowded room and we're not speaking. And I'm dying to know, is it killing you? Like it's killing me yeah. I don't know what to say since a twist of fate when it all broke down. And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now~
And oh what a tragedy indeed it is. But no matter how much ruined it is, she's willing to fixed it. She can't just lost the girl now that she have learned to accept what she's feeling.
~Oh, I'm scared to know the ending why are we pretending, this is nothing. I'd tell you I miss you but I don't know how I never heard silence quiet this loud~
Risa sang with utmost feeling, never minding the loud cheering of the crowd. All the pain and the scars she got, she's expressing it all through one song and Maeve knew about it that's why she can't help but to let the tears escape from her eyes. She felt suffocated just by knowing how much she hurted her best friend. She wants to run away, but Avery grip on jer hand was too much strong, reminding the brunette to stay in her seat until the end of the song.
~ So many things that you wished I knew but the story of us might be ending soon~
Risa look at the blue eyes who's now crying her heart out and was continuously shaking her head. Maeve knew very well what Risa means, but no she doesn't want to accept it. She doesn't want Risa to move on yet nor what they have to come to an end. She's not ready yet nor she'll be ready. 'It's so unfair, I haven't even told her my feelings yet' is what Maeve has in her mind. Risa could only give the blue eyes a bitter smile while singing the chorus of the song.
~ And we're not speaking, and I'm dyin' to know is it killing you like it's killing me yeah. And I don't know what to say since its a twist of fate when it all broke down. And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now, now, now~
Maeve can't help but just to cry and cry, bawling her eyes out. She didn't care if people are now starting to look at her she just cried it all out. And just when she thought nothing could be more heartbreaking than the song Risa had sang, Avery just have to tell her the sad news.
"I know you had a fall out, but I want to tell you that Risa's leaving"
"What!?" the brunette aggressively wiped her tears and look at her friend.
~ The End ~
The song ended with a bow from the squad and a loud cheer from the crowd. After the event the group didn't waste time to go to Leviosa cafe for Risa's final performance. They need to hurry since Risa's flight is at midnight.
"Let's go" Avery said, grabbing Maeve's hand who's trembling so badly. The word Risa and leaving doesn't really go well with each other.
