Chapter VI: Atrocity

At the Mekajiki Restaurant.

"Congratulations, Leo!"

Jin and Irene both took out their party poppers to celebrate their friend's game.
The waiter brought in the huge cake made after The Red Manes' team colors. Their classmate, Narin, holds Jin's tablet so Tio Hector can talk to him via the video from prison.

The others had to remind everybody else to not share any photos with Leo posing with his friends online in fear of his parents.
Milo stared into the dark waters, where The Red Bubble's foundation gave out a faint red glow a few feet below. He took out his phone so he could take a video. Kaira walked up to snap him out.

"You've been zoned out for ten minutes. What's the matter?" she asked.

She noticed that Milo was recording something down there.
Three levels below appeared a bridge that is connected to The Red Bubble's foundation. There were a couple of people walking on that bridge.

"Kaira," he said, "Would you be interested in helping me solve The Red Bubble mystery?"

She looked at him, feeling slightly perplexed by the strange request. He turns back to her while waiting for an answer. "Why don't we cast a vote?" she suggested.

•••

Milo sent in a poll to their group chat for his friends to vote whether they should join him on his detective endeavors or not. "There are only five of us, but Milo can't vote for himself!" Jin suggested.
Rohan then approaches them. They were hesitant to include him because he is the nosy one.

"Hey, I'm sorry for ratting on Milo here! I knew now it was messed up and now seeing you working on The Red Bubble mystery ... I should try helping you guys out!" he reached out a hand, expecting a truce.
Irene simply gave him the stinky look but reluctantly allowed him.

"I swear, I'm gonna tell your parents that you bombed the Math test yesterday so you won't be able to have any extra rotis at school!" she grabbed him by the shirt in a threatening manner.
He quickly nodded his head while begging for mercy.

Their other classmates also joined in. Before putting up the poll on the class' social media page, Milo had to label it as something for their research homework so none of their teachers and parents suspect whatever they're doing.
Once the results turned up, Milo looked at his phone to see that most of them were onboard. "You and your friends should go ahead, detective. The rest of us here are gonna make sure Mr. Williams doesn't find out," Rohan winked at them.
Kaira, Irene, Jin and Leo all looked at Milo proudly. The five of them exited the restaurant as they prepared to track down the mysterious individuals down the bridge.
