Chapter XVI: Susume
It all happened so quickly that Milo didn't have the time to process everything. The last thing he remembered was running away from the rampaging menace at the school arena.
He never looked back and continued speeding towards the fire exit at the back of the building. The tremors beneath him and loud booms had stopped. He thought that he wouldn't be able to escape as it led him through an infinite labyrinth.
Everything was pitch dark, with the deep blue evening sky being the only visible thing outside. He clutched on his hoodie as it was cold outside."Is this still Mantel City?" He felt dazed as he swayed fumbly along the road.
In the distance, there were tiny dots of light from the other side of the city. He trekked along the street for heavens to know how long it was. The next thing is already finding himself in a car.
"W-Who are — zzzr ... you — zz... ?" he spoke in a slur.
"You're gonna be alright, sonny! Just rest back there and we're on our way," a heavy voice responded to him.
An hour or two passed and he was dropped off at the Amihan Memorial Park. He has never seen this place before. The corner of his eye spotted a police car speeding off towards the opposite direction. There in front of him is a framed portrait of him that is surrounded by flowers, candles and a recording device leaning against it.
He picked up the device and unknowingly pressed a button that played something. He recognized the voices of his friends and family. He looked at the green neon display above the dark marble pillar.TIME CHECK:

November 28, 2050 MondayHe remained there for more than an hour, shaking in tears as he listened to the recording. They thought that he was already dead. The soothing sound of the rain against the dome's surface above aligned with his current emotional state. He was all alone. Once he had settled down a bit, he continued on his journey to find his way home.
Alas! He saw the glowing neon sign board that reads 'Almond Street.' This reassured him that he isn't going to be that far. The street neighbors the street he lives in. There were a few more vehicles passing by. The similar bright Christmas ornaments hanging from the postal lamps had replaced that frightened gaze on his face with a hopeful one.Everybody, here I come!
