Chapter XV: CON-sequence

There was this uncomfortable silence in the house. Milo sat there in front of his family with his head down, staring at the floor. He finally told them about his encounter with Omar and the stuff he had told him. Everything from the top-secret emails to recruiting him as his proxy.
    Aunt Glenda furiously rose from her seat. "Why didn't you tell us sooner?" she questioned. "Because the guy may not want me to! There's a reason why Omar only chose to talk to me," Milo emphasized, clenching his fists on his knees. She then suggested they also talk to Irene, Rohan, Tammy and Kaira's brothers.
     He quickly lifted his head upon hearing this and reminded her to drop this brash decision. He didn't want to bother any of them in doubt that he might become an inconvenience to them. Heck, Irene may not even be in the mood to talk to anyone yet!
    "You listen to your aunt, son! They are somehow involved in this," Jason steps in, "It's best to hear their side of the story in case Omar is up to something."

Rohan, Irene, Tammy, Chirag, Ejaz and Feroz were all brought into the house. They looked at each other nervously as they sat around the dining table. Aunt Glenda prepares to interview them.
     Meanwhile, the Faez brothers' family, Tio Hector, Mrs. Ferrari and Rohan's parents gathered outside to keep an eye on them. Leo and Jin also chimed in.

"Milo, you go upstairs!" she ordered.    
"But why?" Milo asked.
"You're grounded for conspiring with a criminal so scoot!" she insisted.

    The boy glanced at his friends for a second before slowly heading upstairs. However, he sat on top of the staircase where he could hear their conversation. Everyone present was intimidated by Aunt Glenda's authoritative aura. She was making sure that they give her an honest response.
     Milo can somehow hear Mr. and Mrs. Kumar ranting about how their son wet himself. "Aiyo! You've made a mess on their floor. What are they gonna think?" they groaned. Malik was heard having let out a snorting laugh while taking a video of the scene.
    Rohan began stuttering as he spoke. Tammy spent hours explaining every mundane detail instead of getting to the important part of the story. Chirag and the twins kept arguing on who gets to speak first. Finally, Irene turned out to be the only sane voice in this house.
     Aunt Glenda was already pinching her temple in annoyance. Leo and Jin both walked into the house as they volunteered to speak. "Omar has actually been causing conflicts even among our friends lately, but we wanna hear Milo out first," Leo requested.

" ... and I think I have an idea on where he could be," Jin added.
