s e v e n t e e n ~ Break up

I sat waiting for Luc as I swung my legs back on forth on the bench. He went to the restroom so I sat waiting for him as I hummed lowly. I pulled my hair to a bun before I put my hood up my head to warm me, the long sleeves of my hoodie warming my palms.

But Luc's hands warms me even more, I smile at the thought as I look up at the Sky. It was almost midnight now and it was quite but Cold.

I and Luc's relationship developed, I feel we're now closer than ever. I feel so happy right now with where we are at that point. Our relationship made me happier than ever.

Luc came back with a nervous smile as he sat next to me. turning to my side, he grabbed my hands in his making me giggle shortly. I rested my head against his chest, his hand hesistanly placed on the side of my waist as I looked up at him.

A sad smile appeared on his lips, Luc was acting weird today but I don't want to question it so he won't get uncomfortable around me. And also If he wants to speak he will, I'm his girlfriend after all. Right?

Luc let out a shaky breath as he spoke.

"Penny, before I say anything. You know I love you, right?" He asked softly. Seriously what was wrong cause I'm starting to get nervous. I pulled back looking up at him, my hand still in his.

"Yeah," I murmured softly, my thumb gliding over his skin to soothe his nerves, urge him to speak it aloud with no doubt or fear. Could be really be in fear because of me?

Author's pov:

"The truth is, you're hurt. I know that really well, and I won't like to add any more scars in your heart just like everybody does and leave. I can't hurt you anymore." Luc let out a shaky breath. taking a deep breath, trying to hold himself together.

"We have to break up," he spoke lowly, as if he didn't want Penny to hear it. And the truth is, he didn't.

A gasp left Penny's lips with shock, her mind not able to process the word her ears just received.

her chest felt heavy as if a rock was put over it. Her eyes pooling with tears as she scooted closer to Luc.

"No, you can't do that. You can't leave me, you're just joking right?" Penny laughed in disbelief, tears streaming on her cheeks as she looked up at him, wishing he could be Joking.

"I'm not." He replied back brokenly, his head laying low. "You can't, you can't!" Penny cried out holding onto Luc as she hid into his chest, her hands holding fists of his back.

"I have to," his voice shook as he tried it hold it in. "No you can't!" Penny yelled in the most broken way he has ever heard. Making his heart crush it into peices.

"I can't, but I have to, because I love you." His voice broke out, making Penny's sobs even harder.

"I love you Penny. I swear I do, and I can't hurt you because of that." He replied brokenly. It was the hardest thing he had said in his life. And he wish he didn't. But he had to, for her...
