Esme Ambrose (POV)

It was Saturday evening, my second day being with Draco. He told me to meet in his dorm today, yesterday we stayed up at the astronomy tower. It was tricky, since we were up past our curfew. I worried about facing a harsh punishment but Draco told me I'll be okay. Even walking me back safely.

We talked, just talked the entire time. I got to know much more about him like I wanted. I hugged myself while walking into the boy's dormitory. It was cold, very cold right now. I knocked on Draco's door which he opened right away.

He motioned me inside, I saw the he had his fireplace on. I turned back smiling at him, "Sorry there's no other furniture."

"It's perfect." I approached him wanting to hug him but just paused standing right in front of him.

Draco seemed to get what I was doing and hugged me immediately. He let go and looked down at me before gently kissing my forehead. It sent sparks in my body, I can't explain how bad I missed this comfort from Draco.

He walked over to his bed, "Are you okay sitting here?"

"Yes but I think's more about you being comfortable." I answered, with Draco it's hard knowing what is and isn't crossing the line.

"I'm comfortable with you, that's certain."

I sat myself on his bed with my body slightly against the pillow since that's how both his pillows were set in an elevated way. He was already laying down, the crackling of the fire echoed in the room.

"I don't think you finished your story last night," I inched closer.

"Ehh I don't need to."

"Why? Because you lost?" I bantered.

"Very funny Esme," He smirked, "But I didn't, was I close? Maybe."

I chuckled as he asked, "You never played quidditch have you?"

"No... I um don't think I'm the best person for sports." I admitted, "Any physical activity I'm just not good at."

He looked at me deeply, not saying anything just let out a "Hm."

"What?" I asked puzzled.

"I beg to differ, that's all."

All of a sudden it felt hot in the room, "But you like watching people play?"

I was flushed, "Yeah more of a sideline person, I can play other games though... like chess, I'm super good at it."

"Oh yeah? My mother would make me play with her all the time."

"Did she always beat you?"

"Not answering that."

"Why not?" I smirked, "Can't have me knowing you suck at chess?"

"No I don't, I'm very good at it if you ever want to play a game and get beaten badly."

"I'll gladly take you on," I smiled.

I laid myself on Draco's bad exactly how he was, facing the ceiling, "Can I ask you something?"

"Go for it."

I turned my body over, "Do you miss your parents?"

It took a while for him to answer, "I miss my mother greatly that it actually hurts, she's the only person who actually loves me yet doesn't even know me... I know it would kill her if she ever knew just half of who I am."
