Veronica's POV
My aunt scoffed.

"He was scared. He thought, he wasn't ready. What is wrong with you Veronica?!"

"Nothing. I don't want to be with him anymore. It's simple as that."

"Let's just remember that, this is all your fault!"

"How?! It's not my fault, he loves me!"

"After everything, he's done for you?! Are you serious?!"

"What do you want me to freaking do?!"

"Go talk to him!"

"No!"

"Do it!"

"No!"

"He's depressed! I've never seen him like this!"

"So?! I don't fucking care! He's 26! He can handle himself!"

"You're a horrible person!"

"Excuse me?!"

"This boy, gave you everything, you wanted! He stopped going on tour for you!"

"I don't care!"

"Either you talk to him or, you're not allowed to live here anymore!"

"You can't be serious!"

"I'm as serious as a heart attack!"

I rolled my eyes.

"Why should I see him?!"

"Just humor me!"

"Fine! Where the fuck is he?!"

"He moved!"

"How am I supposed to talk to him if, I don't know where he lives?!"

"You'll figure it out!"

I stormed up to my room. I slammed the door shut. I picked up my phone. I went to his contact. I just stared at it. I shut my phone off.

I'm done with him.

Jacob's POV
I stopped sleeping. I stopped eating. I started drinking my pain away. One day, I heard the doorbell ring and I didn't answer it. I just looked at the security camera. I saw Veronica and a little girl. I walked over to the door. I opened it.

"Yeah?"

She started to look upset.

"You look horrible!"

"Yeah no shit Veronica. What do you want? Did you come here to rub it in my face that, I'm not apart of my daughter's life?"

She looked down. I scoffed.

"How'd you find me?"

"Lakelyn told me."

"I should've known."

I went to shut the door in her face.

"Wait Jake!"

I slammed the door shut. I locked it. I slid down the door onto the floor. I started crying.

"Jacob?! Open the door! Can we talk?!"

I stood up and opened the door again.

"Why? You seem better off without me. Everyone is."

"Wait a minute. Have you been drinking?"

"What else am I supposed to do? Spend my days, locked in my house sober? Left to cope with my heart being shattered?"

"Why didn't you come to me?"

I scoffed again.

"Kim didn't tell you?"

"She did. I want to hear it from you."

"I was and am still scared. I thought...I wasn't ready to see you. The one time I was brave enough to, you were gone. Just like you always are. I know you have a boyfriend. I know you've moved on. I can't move on. I love you too much."

I looked down. River looked up at me.

"Who are you?"

"Don't worry about it."

I looked at Veronica.

"You said in your note, I deserve to be in her life. You lied to me."

"Jacob please."

"Veronica no."

I slammed the door in her face.
