Chapter 20

"Why do you want to kill Zack?" Scarlet asked perplexed by the whole scenario.

"Because he will ruin us all Davina he will, he wants to destroy Roman and that's wrong, Zack is evil and we need to take him out of the picture" the girl said.

"What's your name?" Scarlet asked.

"Luisa Adams" Luisa said.

"How are you related to Zack?" Scarlet asked with her arms crossed on her chest.

"Zack's my brother, stepbrother actually," Luisa said.

"And what's your relationship with Roman, am betting he's important to you" Scarlet asked.

"I-he-I-I-I- love him okay, I love Roman and I would rather stop Zack than watch him lay a finger on Roman" Luisa said stuttering a little.

"You will kill your brother for a man that doesn't know you exist?" Scarlet said with a frown on her face.

The ideology of this girl was absurd in every way possible and Scarlet couldn't work with someone who was emotionally driven, getting on her good side was beginning to seem like a waste of effort and it annoyed her.

"He knows I exist, you don't know anything about us, he touches me sometimes" Luisa said with a dreamy look on her face as she slowly rubbed the side of her arm mimicking a caress.

"I can't help you sorry Luisa," Scarlet said and took a step backwards away from the girl.

"Why? Please help me," Luisa said.

"You don't have a good reason to want to kill someone plus I am a lawyer a very reputable one if I may add and I don't think I'll ever win a case like this in court if you are angry at your brother please let him know, I advise you talk to him about it okay," scarlet said.

"Hell no, he'll send me to rehab again, you don't know what Zack is capable of do you? A man who can frame his sister and send her to rehab just because he was tired of seeing her love his so-called best friend, trust me Scarlet Zack deserves whatever I want to do to him, I came to you thinking you will be of help but I guess you aren't Davina, cause the Davina I know will kill even the most innocent" Luisa said upset.

"Well I never said I was, did I?" Scarlet said.

"Then I see you as an enemy and just so you know, I'll do anything to protect Roman from him, anything" Luisa said then left the room.

Scarlet sighed and went into the bathroom to soak herself in a bath, all these issues were already giving her a headache, As she sat in the bathtub tears began to run down her face which she wiped off immediately but it was of no use because the tears kept coming to some painful memories she had buried a long time ago were beginning to resurface.

There was a reason why she stopped being Davina, a reason why she became scarlet and all these people just made her remember why everything changed, made her remember why she had to achieve all her goals, why she fought for the position she was in now, Now all these Adams just barged into her life and bring back everything she has tucked it was infuriating as much as it was sad.

Scarlet's phone ringing in the bedroom brought her out of her train of thought and as fast as she could she got out of the bathtub and ran to the bedroom to pick up the phone, she checked the caller ID and quickly -picked the call when she saw it was Carlos.

"Hello, what did you find?" Scarlet said immediately she picked up the call.

"Zack is the son of Mateo Andres," Carlos said.

"Who is Mateo Andres?" Scarlet asked.

"Your father's arch Enemy," Carlos said.

"Mateo Andres? It doesn't ring a bell Carlos" Scarlet said.

"You killed their Grandfather Davina, Pedro Andres," Carlos said.

"Pedro? Still doesn't ring a bell if I remember all the people I have killed I would go crazy Carlos, if Mateo is my father's arch enemy how is Zack Adams his son?" Scarlet asked.

"Zack was adopted by the Adams because Mateo threatened them it's all a cover-up like you, he aims to destroy Roman" Carlos said.

"Why does he want to destroy Roman? And what does marrying me have to do with it all? Carlos makes this make sense to me" Scarlet said.

"I don't know yet but I believe it's something that has to do with the other face of Roman that we know," Carlos said.

Of course, there was another side to Roman Black that many didn't know, the side that brought her here in the first place, the side of him that is connected to the other side of her, as humans we all have secrets we hide.

"Find out everything there is to know about Zack, every single thing and I need you to keep an eye on him, Carlos, I've worked years to get to this point and I can't have him ruin it for me, you understand right?" Scarlet said.

"Yes I understand scarlet," Carlos said.

"How-How is she?" Scarlet asked.

"You know I am not supposed to tell you..."

"I know Carlos I just want to know if she's fine that's all" Scarlet said as tears began to form at the bank of her eyes.

"She's Alive and that's all I can say," Carlos said and ended the call.

Scarlet wiped off the tears that were already running down her face, it's been years but the thought of everything still broke her heart like it all happened yesterday, coming to this island was a mistake and she would forever regret it because it opened all the closed wounds she had.

A knock on the door startled Scarlet and quickly she ran back into the bathroom to pick up her towel, she had forgotten to wrap herself in the towel before leaving the bathroom earlier on.

"Who is there?" Scarlet asked when she came out of the bathroom.

"Open the door" she heard a very familiar male voice say.

"No.... don't you have a name?" Scarlet said and slowly made her way to the door she peeped through the peephole to see who it was and was shocked by who she saw.

Immediately, her heart began to race and her cheeks turned red, she was nervous to even open the door as fast as she could she opened the wardrobe to find something she could wear, after almost turning everything upside down she settled for a black pant and a black top she saw but when she checked the mirror and saw how hideous she looked she quickly took it off.

"Am coming in" she heard him say.

Before she could say a word to stop him, he opened the door and walked into the room, to meet a naked scarlet with her hands covering her breast and private part.

"Roman how dare you!!!" Scarlet screamed.
