"Hey bun, eat up"
I looked at Veen who's sitting beside me. Nandito kami sa cafeteria ngayon and we're eating lunch. I'm with my friends pati na rin friends ni Veen. Kahit parati na namin nakakasama friends ko for the last 2 years dito sa uni at patay na patay sila kay Veen, hindi pa rin sila close. They're close with Veen's friends but not with Veen. Masyado siyang aloof when it comes to other people.
"Kanina ka pa tulaley. Pinalipasan ka ba ng gutom ni Samantha?"
Taylor, one of Veen's friends teased me. Veen gave her a straight face.
"Stop teasing her and tulaley? You sound so gay"
Taylor chuckled.
"Oh Samantha my dear, aren't we?"
Veen did not answer her. Instead, she took the water bottle in front of her and opened it then she gave it to me. Hindi ko rin maintindihan anong pinag-uusapan nila.
"Come on Bun. Eat up, don't mind them"
"Busog na ako bub"
Ininom ko ang tubig na ibinigay niya.
"Feeling ko talaga T napaglipasan to ng gutom. Naku magkakasakit ka Mon, tapos mawawalan ka ng lakas, tapos hindi ka makakapasok"
Jamie pouted like she was so worried about me.
"Please shut up?"
Veen's voice is calm but it's stern. Nararamdaman ko na rin yung tension ng katawan niya since she is sitting beside me and nakapatong yung isang kamay niya sa backrest ng upuan ko. Nilagay ko ang kamay ko sa likod niya at hinagod siya to calm her down. Pinipikon na naman siya nitong mga kaibigan niya.
"Calm down Veen. They're just teasing you"
She smiled at me.
"I know Bunny"
Her two friends chuckled. They really know Veen so well. Alam nila kung hanggang saan ang pasensya nito.
"U-uhmm Miss Sam, feeling ko kasalanan namin kung bakit hindi matakaw si Mon ngayon"
"Hey! Hindi ako matakaw!"
Hindi nila pinansin ang pagtatanggi ko sa sinabi ni Kianna. Veen looked at her instead.
"Why is it?"
"Uhmm dinalhan ko kasi siya ng cupcakes kanina medjo marami yung nakain niya hehe"
I gave Jane a death stare. She was not supposed to say that! Being an athlete and a student pilot makes Veen so obsessed with keeping fit. Dagdagan mo pang Doktor ang mga Daddy namin. While me? I just really want to sleep and eat whatever I want to eat. I do not care kasi hindi naman ako tumataba though I can really say that I have a very unhealthy lifestyle hehe.
I looked at Veen and gave her a puppy face, trying to act cute so I can save my ass.
"I'm sorry bub. I promise that will be the first and last sweets today"
"Bun, not because we can promise doesn't mean we can be excused"
Natahimik kami sa sinabi niya. I can hear a hint of disappointment in her voice. May mga panahon talaga na nararamdaman ko yung age gap namin ni Veen. Minsan masyadong malayo yung level ng maturity niya sa level ng maturity ko. Sometimes it makes me feel childish- kagaya ngayon.
Katelyn who just arrived and probably heard what Veen said cleared her throat to break the silence.
"That's enough. Mon, it's almost 1PM, you and your friends should go to your next class"
