Quick warning: this one-shot features an indirect mention of a VERY racist term. Don't even think I need to tell you which one it is. Don't like, don't read.

And, no, despite this one-shots title, it is NOT  a songfic set to the 1974 song performed by Elton John. Although, I do sing it in the shower everyday.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Griffin Campbell was NOT having a good day today. He was the last one of his family to wake up, which meant he had to take a cold shower this morning, and we all know how that feels, especially when you're late to school. Then, he got an automatic F in science class for forgetting to bring his science project, which was an observation of the various minerals you could find in an asteroid, to school today. But in his defense, when you're the last one to wake up and have to take a cold shower, that cold water kinda messes with your brain, so would it really hurt to have cut Griffin some slack? According to his science teacher, yes it would hurt to cut him some slack. But then, after that, in gym class when the(lazy) substitute gym teacher for the day had them just play dodgeball the whole time, Griffin got five consecutive dodgeballs to the face. And then, after being taken to the nurses' office, he saw that he got a huge black eye and had at least three of his front teeth knocked out, which only further pushed him to his wit's end. So, by the time he was walking into the cafeteria, he was about ready to lose it!!!! And right when he was just about all the way calmed down, he felt someone tap his shoulder. "WHAT?!" asked Griffin, yelling. "Jeez, dude. Chill. All I wanted to know was if we were still on for band practice at my place on Friday?" asked Griffin's friend, Tobias Moore. "Huh? Oh, yeah. Sure, man. Whatever you want." said Griffin absentmindedly. "Rough day, huh?" asked Tobias curiously as he looked at Griffin's black eye. "You can say that again." said Griffin dryly before he went back to eating his lunch in silence. However, a few minutes later, Griffin felt another tap on his shoulder. "Yeah?" asked Griffin, not even looking up from his food. "Hey, dude, I could be wrong but isn't that your girlfriend Hailee over there?" asked Tobias worriedly as he pointed over to where Harper, Topher, Wyatt and Zoey were in the middle of a large crowd near the southeast exit of the cafeteria. "Her name's Harper and, yes, that is her. What the heck is she doing over there?" asked Griffin, a mix of curiosity and worry in his voice. "I dunno, but as her boyfriend, you should probably go over and find out." said Tobias nonchalantly as he went back to eating his very sticky and messy peanut butter, jelly and banana sandwich. "Alright." said Griffin as he walked over to where his girlfriend, her brother and his siblings were and as he got closer, he saw that Harper's best friend, Peyton Miller, was arguing with the new snobbish rich kid, Keith McLaren, Jr., yelling at him at a frequency only dogs should've been hearing while he just stood there smugly, Wyatt and Zoey looked like they wanted to tear Keith limb from limb and, worst of all, Harper and Topher, along with a few other persons of color, were crying ugly tears. As he saw that his girlfriend was crying, Griffin knew he had to put a stop to whatever it was that caused Harper to cry, and after a bit of pushing and shoving, he made his way to the center of the large crowd that had gathered around Peyton and Keith and made his way over to the twins. "Okay. Wyatt, Zoey, catch me up. What the heck is going on here? Why is Peyton going severely mental? Why do you guys look like you wanna tear Keith from limb to limb? Most importantly though, why is my girlfriend crying?!" asked Griffin, having to yell so he could be heard over Peyton's demonic screeching. "When Peyton and Harper were on their way to lunch with Topher, Zoey and I, Keith had cut right in front of us and began to flirt with Peyton as we were walking to our table." said Wyatt, seething at Keith. "But when Harper intervened and reminded Keith that Peyton was a lesbian and already had a girlfriend, Keith N-worded Harper." said an angry Zoey, as she was literally being held back by Wyatt and a few other students so she wouldn't attack and possibly murder Keith. "You've got to be kidding me." said Griffin, dumbstruck, a few minutes later. "Nope." said Wyatt. After a few more minutes of silence except for Peyton's unholy yelling, Griffin sighed and walked over to where Peyton and Keith were standing to take care of the problem. "Okay, Peyton, I think that's quite enough. Now, could you do me a favor and go hold my sister back so she doesn't murder Keith? Thanks." said Griffin as he looked Keith straight in the eye. "Alright, dude. You've only been here, what, three months now, and you've already pissed off the whole school by N-wording my girlfriend." said Griffin, scowling as he stared Keith down. "Wow. She's your girlfriend?! You could honestly do so much better than her, I'm just sayin'." said Keith calmly, like there wasn't just someone yelling at his face ten minutes ago. "Okay, that's it!!! One, that kinda language is never acceptable around here. But then again, you're just a pretty white rich boy with no real personality, so I wouldn't expect you to understand. And secondly, you better back off and never talk to my girlfriend that way ever again." said Griffin threateningly. Keith just scoffed. "Oh yeah? Or what, Toothless?"asked Keith mockingly. Just then, Griffin turned back around to face everybody in the cafeteria and flashed them all a goofy grin before turning back around and punching Keith square in the face, knocking him down-and-out almost instantly. Everyone watching was shocked and didn't know what to say after watching Griffin, who was a bit smaller than most kids his age, sock Keith, who had a good two feet on him, to the ground with just one punch. Finally, Griffin turned back around and spoke. "You're welcome." said Griffin simply before walking out of the cafeteria right then and there. A few moments later, after all the excitement had died down and everyone went back to their seats, Zoey spoke again. "Oh, great. So Griffin gets to punch a guy in the face but I can't murder the same guy who my brother just punched?!" asked the girl incredulously. "Not the time, Zo." said Wyatt a few more minutes later before he went back to eating his lunch. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A few hours later, after school, Griffin was at his desk in his room, getting ready to do some algebra homework when there was a knock at his bedroom door. "Come in." said Griffin, not looking up from his homework. "Hey, Griffin." said Harper, quietly. "Oh, he-hey, Harper. What's up?" asked Griffin as he got up from his desk and went to go sit on his bed as Harper came in his room and sat next to him. "Well, I just wanted to thank you for what you did back at school today. I still can't believe you knocked Keith out with just a single punch to the face." said Harper in awe as she was pulled in for a hug by Griffin. "Yeah, well. It was the right thing to do. Plus, even before he did that, I always kinda hated his guts. He was just so stuck-up, prudish and annoying and it was starting to drive me nuts. I guess all my pent-up anger at him just let itself out with that punch." said Griffin quietly before his phone went off. "Great." said Griffin, annoyed. "What's wrong?" asked Harper upon hearing Griffin's demeanor change drastically. "Oh, nothing. It's just that, ever since I got home about an hour-and-a-half ago, random people from school have been blowing up my phone with various messages, asking me why I punched Keith in the first place." said Griffin wryly as he set his phone off to the side. "And you haven't responded to any of them?!" asked Harper in disbelief. "Nope. And, honestly, it's been pretty funny watching people try to guess why I knocked Keith straight in the kisser. I mean, some people think that aliens experimented on me and gave me superpowers and I tested out my "super strength" on Keith. Others think Keith and I staged the whole thing so I could get popularity points. And a few other people seem to think I was high on something and simply punched Keith in a drug-induced fit of rage." said Griffin nonchalantly as he pulled Harper in for another hug. "You're a real dork, you know that?" asked Harper playfully as she ruffled her boyfriend's hair. "Yeah, I know. But I'm your dork and you love me." said Griffin. A few minutes later, however, Harper spoke up. "Did you really get five consecutive dodgeballs to the face? I'm sorry, but that just seems a bit far-fetched and hard to believe, and we've time traveled!!!" exclaimed Harper. "Yes I did. And it hurt like hell. You've haven't felt real pain until you've gotten five dodgeballs to the face, a giant black eye and you've lost three of your front teeth." said Griffin, sarcastically. "Noted." said Harper dryly before she and Griffin fell into a comfortable silence and spent the rest of the afternoon into the evening laying down on Griffin's bed, cuddling and holding each other close. That is, until Griffin's parents got a call from Keith's parents about what happened, forcing Griffin to come clean and earning him and Harper a trip to court. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just wanna clear up two things:It was not my intention to have this one-shot drop on both Preston Oliver's birthday and the second day of Black History Month. And that my next one-shot won't actually be a one-shot, it'll be my list of theories for SOSS s3. So be on the lookout for that. And I'll catch you on the flip. Ciao. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
