~ Chapter 17~

Vaidehi locked herself in the room. Shreesh was knocking on the door but she didn't respond.

~ Inside Vaidehi's room~

Vaidehi was holding a locket in her hand, and crying profusely.
" Kyu? Kyu babasa! Kyu chod kar gaye aap dono hume! "
" Agar jana hi tha, toh hume bhi sath lekar chalte na! " She said in between her sobs.
" Hume pata tha, hume pata tha unhe yeh shaadi nahi karni thi! Par unhone aisa kyu kiya babasa! Hume bhi nahi karni thi unse shaadi, hum bhi chahte the ki yeh shaadi toote! Par aise nahi.. Not at the cost of my character. Unhone toh hume characterless hi ghoshit kar diya baba! "

She was traumatized by the turn of event.
For any individual, specially a girl, character is quite a close matter of concern. A single stain on one's character, even if it's a false proclaim leaves a permanent mark.
People, society never forgets it. And here, Rutvendra had proclaimed Vaidehi, to be Characterless in front of the same very society, that judges to no extent, that doesn't care about the truth, but won't think twice before spreading things that would malign an individual's image, even if they know that those are mere rumors! The society cares less.

Even if one says, that he/ she doesn't care about what the society says, but still somewhere or the other, at some point or the other, the society matters, their opinions put a strain on any individual's mind.

Vaidehi didn't knew what else was stored in for her in the near future now.

~ In another room~

"Yeh aapne kyu kiya Rutvendra? " Rana Amrendra's voice boomed loud.
" Jo bhi kiya sahi kiya usne! Aap soch bhi kaise sakte hai ki woh.. Woh ladki Yaduvanshi's ki bahu banne ke layak hai! Bilkul bhi nahi, na humari bahu aur na hi Pallavgad ki rani banne ki aukaat hai uski! " Soumyawati retorted.
" Hum aapse baat nahi kar rahe hai! " Rana Amrendra said.
" Agar apko Aanisha se shaadi karni hi thi toh phir woh sab naatak kyu kiya? Kyu uss bechari ka jeevan kharab kiya Rutvendra! " Rana Amrendra's voice was not losing its loudness.
" Humare pass apni wajah thi dadusa! " Rutvendra replied.
" Wahaj! Aapke pass kisiki zindagi barbad karni ki wajah bhi hai! " Rana Amrendra mocked.

The Ranawat's were quietly listening to the exchange happening between the grandfather- grandson. But even they were eager to know the reason.

" Uss.. Uss nich ladki ne hume! Hume! Pallavgad ke hone wale raja ko disrespect kiya tha! Unhone humare aude ka maan nahi rakha! Toh saza dena toh jayaaz hi tha! "Rutvendra said.
" Aur humne kuch galat nahi kiya! That bitch deserved it.
Aur waise bhi, aap logo ne soch bhi kaise liye, ki woh.. Woh behenji humare aas paas rehne ke laayak bhi hai. Na uska koi standard ha, na hi status. Bas Ranawat hai naam ke aage isliye.. Sirf isliye toh hum usse shaadi nahi kar sakte hai na.
Upar se padhi- likhi bhi nahi hai! Hum kisi gavar ko humari patni bilkul nahi banayenge! Padhai, success, career, looks kuch bhi nahi hai uske pass. Ek low class government school mei naachaniya( dancer) hai! Woh jo sabke samne nachti hai, pata nahi kin kin mardo ke samne nachi hai! Usse hum apni patni kabhi nahi banayenge! "

This was for the first time the Ranawat's themselves got to know what Vaidehi was doing in her life! Earlier they didn't care enough to ask ever. But her being a small dance teacher in a government school somehow irritated Vishwanath. Damn! She had a Ranawat surname attached along with her name and she was doing such a cheap job as her profession!.

"Hume Aanisha se shaadi karni hai! Woh perfectly humare type ki hai! "He completed.
" Yeh saab aap tab nahi soch sakte the! Agar aapko Aanisha se hi shaadi karni thi toh Vaidehi ke sath.. "It was Abhishek who was speaking this time.
" Aap abhi tak nahi samjhe.. Hume badala lena tha uss Vaidehi se! Aur woh humne le liya. Ab hum shaadi toh usse karenge jisse hume karni hai! "Rutvendra said.
"Rutvendra! Humne. Waada. Kiya. Tha. " Rana Amrendra dotted.
" Aapka waada humare jeevan se jyada jaruri toh nahi ho sakta na dadusa! Aur hum sach mei Aanisha se shaadi karna chahte hai, na ki uss ladki se! In fact Aanisha bhi humse shaadi karna chahti hai! "Rutvendra said in a not so innocent tone this time.
" Ji sahi toh keh raha hai, woh ladki sach mei humare parivar mei nahi jachegi! Uski toh aukaat hi nahi hai! Aur yeh mat bhulye, usne aate hi apni maa ko khai liya tha! Apne baap ko taak nahi baksha usne! Aisi manusiyat hum humare mahal mei kaise le ja sakte hai! " Soumyawati completed.
"Par.. Amrendra.. Kisi bhi ladki..ko mandap mei yui.... " Vishwanath was speaking, with the only reason that he didn't wanted people to taunt their family, because of Vaidehi now.
" Hum jante hai! "Rana Amrendra's voice boomed.
" Aanisha kya aap bhi. .
" Ji ji dadusa! Hum toh Rutvendra ko pehli nazar mei hi pasand kar bethe the! "Aanisha didn't even let Rana Amrendra complete his sentence.
" Thik hai! Rutvendra hum aur behes nahi karenge! Apko Aanisha se shaadi karni hai.Karye!
Par. Hum humara wada bhi nahi todenge! Kabhi nahi toda hai humne! Vaidehi bhi Yaduvanshi's ki bahu banegi!Abhishek, usse jakar bata dijiye! Uski shaadi ho rahi hai! " Saying this Rana Amrendra walked out of the room.

The Ranawat's were confused! They didn't knew what Rana Amrendra was upto. But the Yaduvanshi's faces could show terror and fear clearly. It was only Randhir, father of Rutvendra, who looked calm. But somewhere or the other, Randhir too knew, what his father was thinking was nearly impossible to do.

Damyatti, mother of Rutvendra, on the other hand was sweating profusely. Not so very moment ago, she was proud of her son's decision,but now..
She turned towards her mother in law, and said, " Maa sa.. Babasa aisa nahi kar sakte! Aap janti hai usse! Woh.. "
"Nahi bilkul nahi! Don't even go there. Agar yeh itni hi zid kar rahe hai uss ladki ko uske gale mei bandhane ki, toh mhuje koi problem nahi hai! Par.. Agar woh kuch mangane laga toh usse woh nahi diya jayega! Hum jaante hai usse kya chahiye! Hum achi tarah jante hai usse! Woh kitna chalak hai, jante hai hum! Hum jaante hai woh kya mangega! Par woh usse dena asambhav hai! "Saying this Soumyawati also walked towards where Rana Amrendra had left for.

" Abhishek, humare mitr ne jo kaha woh usse jakar keh de! Aur ek baat yaad rahe,kuch ho ya na ho, par aaj iss ghar se uski doli toh uthegi hi! "Vishwanath said.
" Ji dadusa! " Saying this Abhishek left towards Vaidehi's room.
