80. Visiting My Family

So, today is July 1st. I'm visiting my dad and all my sisters are here, too. I decided to visit my dad as soon as I recovered from the jet lag, Iseul came with me and it was the perfect girl's road trip, I didn't realize how much I missed just hitting the road! I love to drive! I also have my dear Lana with me, my little fluffy bundle of joy is enjoying this trip so much!

I've been here in Mexico for only three days and the fucking 15-hour difference is getting on my nerves because it makes it hard for me to keep in touch with Yoongi. Besides, he was traveling to Daegu for a family reunion (I'll explain in a moment). We've been texting more than once during the day, but sometimes it takes us hours to respond. I also text JK every day as I promised, and oddly enough he always responds almost immediately... I guess that boy doesn't sleep at all.

I have been enjoying my family very much, my sisters are already planning a trip to Seoul., girls only. I feel sorry for my brothers-in-law, but if my sisters want to go alone, well... who am I to say no?

Yoongi and I video chatted yesterday, but it was only for a brief moment. We had planned on watching the concerts together, but neither of us remembered why he had to take his trip to his hometown.  We chatted when I was watching the concert with my sisters. He heard them joke around with embarrassing comments about us, and all I could see was his gummy smile as he laughed out loud turning his face away from the camera as he asked them to stop. I must say that Yoongi's English is better than we all thought it could be, he did have that secret pretty much hidden from all of us.

— "Aahhh Yoongi-ssi! Tell me you have an older brother for me that looks as hot as you!" — my sister Olivia is single, well... sort of engaged but reluctant to get 'tied up', and she takes every chance she has to ask Yoongi things like this.

— "Aish Oli! I'm sorry, but it's a little too late for that, he's getting married."

— "Why does this always happen to me?? I could have been your Noona on both sides!" — this time we were all laughing as Olivia made Yoongi blush with her forwardness.

— "Dude! Stop it! You're not in a K Drama! — I pushed her away from my screen.

Before we ended the call he told me in a sad voice

— "You don't know how much I wanted to have you here to take you to the wedding with me. Why can't we just go ahead and let everybody know we're in a relationship? My family already knows, my brother wants to meet you... it would have been a good moment for everything." — he sighed and tilted his head back frustrated about everything.

— "No, it wouldn't, and you know it. Weddings in Korea are way different than here, they're more traditional, and you can't just show up with some random occidental girl. The last time we had this talk we said it was best to keep a low profile about us... and wait until after your MS." — God! I hate we have to wait that long! — "We'll meet your family when I get back, don't worry. Have a good time at the wedding, remember to smile for the family picture, and give your brother and his bride my best regards. I love you."

We said our goodbyes with the promise to speak again tomorrow, and I went back to my girls with our pajama party. Again, I apologize to my brothers-in-law because my sisters were staying over for the night, but it has been ages since all 5 of us have been together like this, I need my time with my sisters, I don't know when we'll be able to be like this again. They took Iseul in as one of us, so that makes our little sorority of 6 now.

My dad just pulled me out of the room a while ago, he seems so happy watching all of his daughters together laughing; you see, the last time we were all together was when my mom passed away, so watching us laughing and happy comforted him a lot. Anyway, he called me to the dining room and poured me an 18-year-old whisky I gave him some years ago... We were supposed to open it to celebrate a happy moment, but.. well, we both haven't had any lately, until now.

— "My bud, I'm so happy for you! Look how far you've gotten! I wish you a bright and wonderful life, may God bless you with all your heart's desires... Even if that takes you far away from me."— he started to cry, and I couldn't hold back my tears either.

— "Daddy, I love you! I promise I'll come and visit often!"

Now it's July 2nd, as a matter of fact, July 3rd, because right now is past midnight, my sisters came again to see the second concert and have some drinks, and right now they're having a TMI session (God knows why) and Iseul is laughing her lungs out. I told them I had a little catching up to do with something so I could upload my chapter as I said so. Iseul and I will return to Monterrey next Saturday, which will basically give me only one day's rest before l start with all the things I have to do before going back home to Seoul. "Back home"... it still sounds kinda weird.
