The atmosphere changed as each song began to fade into another. But what didn't change, was the amount of alcohol that had been consumed as the night got later. The lights became a blur as the music pounded in the background, the loud chatter and laughter being the main source of sound.

The more he drank, the more Joe found himself stealing glances at Emmie from across the room. He couldn't help himself. There was no denying that she looked good every time he saw her, but this time was different. The way her dress hugged every curve on her body, but fell loosely just above her thighs. The way the blue complemented her eyes so effortlessly. It had him feeling some type of way, and he just couldn't shake the feeling.

He watched the way her face lit up with a smile, as she laughed at something Dani had said. He couldn't help but admire how good she looked, as much as he tried to tear his eyes away. Joe pressed his lips together, running a hand through his hair, as he glanced away, zoning back into the conversation with the guys around him.

"You good?" Kevin nudged him, noticing the silence fell over him.

Joe looked up, raising his eyebrows slightly before giving him a reassuring nod.

He took a large mouthful from the drink in his hand, turning his head back in the direction of the girls, to see his favourite blonde rushing towards him with a smile on her face.

"Joe!" She grinned, quickly appearing by his side. He couldn't help but smile in her presence, wrapping an arm around her waist, the material of her dress against his fingertips.

Oh the things he wanted to do.

He felt her lean into him, knowing that she was tipsy, if not completely drunk. He pressed a kiss to her head, inhaling the sweet scent that lingered between them. As he looked down at her, he felt the smile plaster his face. Her eyes met his, completely blocking out anyone else in the room, as the music faded out again.

It was peaceful until they heard Kevin clear his throat from beside them.

"When you two have finished eye fucking each other." He spoke with a sarcastic smile, "We're about to get more drinks. You guys want anything?"

Emmie let out a loud dragged out laugh, signalling to everyone that she definitely under the influence. Kevin raised his eyebrows, clearly amused, whilst Joe smirked at her.

"I'll have one." She continued, "Although I don't know what? Do you?" She looked up at Joe.

He quickly hushed her, although she wasn't paying attention. It wasn't until Dani suddenly appeared by her side, that Emmie would start rambling again.

"Hey babe." Dani smiled, "How about we let the boys get the drinks, and we head back over there." She gestured to where the room was more spacious. "You wanna dance?"

Emmie nodded, sliding away from Joe's grasp, but he quickly pulled her back, placing a hand on her cheek. She watched his eyes trace her face, until he pulled her in for a kiss, holding her there for a long moment.
