"Even Sedha knew that he's your ex-boyfriend," Abhi's voice dripped with accusation, as if the betrayal had seeped into every word. His eyes bore into Siya's, filled with disbelief."Raunak was never my boyfriend!" Siya's voice cracked as she spoke, a mix of frustration and hurt making her feel raw and exposed. "Why won't you believe me? Why would you trust Sedha more than me?" Her question was laced with desperation, her voice trembling as she stepped toward him, hoping for even a glimmer of understanding.
"Yeah, at this moment, I trust her more than you," Abhi spat the words out, his anger getting the better of him. It was a painful admission, one that neither of them would have ever imagined coming out of his mouth. In his mind, it had always been Siya — always her. But in his fury, that truth was momentarily forgotten.
Siya recoiled as if he had slapped her. The sharp sting of his words left her breathless. "So... so that's it, right? I don't even have the value that Sedha does in your life? Is that what you're saying, Abhi?" Her voice broke, the weight of her heartache finally crashing down upon her.
Abhi clenched his fists, torn between his frustration and guilt. "Now don't you dare try turning the tables, Siya," he said, his voice hardening as he tried to focus on the issue at hand. "This isn't about Sedha. It's about you, your ex, and this whole plan behind my back. Don't deflect the blame. I have a right to know what's been going on!"
Siya's eyes widened, her body tense as she fought to hold back the flood of emotions. She had been holding on to so much for so long. And now, everything was crumbling down. "Fine!" she shouted, her voice raw and angry, filled with years of bottled-up resentment. "If we're finally being honest, then let me ask you something, Abhi."
Abhi's anger faltered as he stared at her, his brow furrowing in confusion at her sudden shift.
"Were you ever honest with me, Abhi?" Siya's voice had softened, her question cutting deeper than her initial rage. She wasn't accusing him — she was pleading for the truth, for some clarity in the chaos they were drowning in.
"What are you talking about?" His tone was defensive now, the fury in his voice replaced by something more vulnerable.
Abhi was taken aback by her words. He hadn't expected this. His mind raced back to the things he had hidden from her — his love for her that spanned nearly a decade, how he had gone behind her back to kidnap Anujith just so he could marry her in his place. All of it. The secrets he had kept for what he thought was their future together. Did she know? Had she figured it all out?
His silence was all the answer Siya needed. She could see the guilt flicker across his face, the way his gaze faltered as if he was remembering something he didn't want to admit.
Her heart sank. "You... you've been hiding things too, haven't you?" she whispered, the realization crashing over her. "All this time... I wasn't the only one keeping secrets."
Abhi swallowed hard, unable to meet her eyes. "Siya..." he began, his voice softer now, but the damage was done. The walls they had both built to protect themselves were crumbling.
"Tell me, Abhi," she pressed, stepping closer, her voice firm now despite the tears streaming down her face. "How many things have you kept from me? How many lies have we been living under this roof?"
"All this time, I've suffered in silence," Siya began, her voice shaking, "knowing that you had feelings for Sedha before me. Do you know how hard it was, living under the same roof as her, pretending that everything was fine? Pretending that I didn't notice how close the two of you were? You don't think that was torture for me?" Her voice cracked, tears brimming in her eyes as she continued. "I endured all of that because I believed in you. But now I wonder... were you honest with me, Abhi? Were you?"
