While Elder Baili was trying to understand what had or hadn't happened, Zhi Guan and the others rushed toward the underground palace with the group from the Li Ren Sect. Time was limited so they traveled as fast as possible. The older disciples from the Li Ren Sect had grabbed the younger ones, allowing everyone to go significantly faster.

Thankfully, the demonic faction didn't seem to be on high alert any longer in this part of the border region. Nobody surprised them on their way and they managed to make it to the vicinity of the underground palace unhindered. Only when the building could be seen at the horizon did they slow down and finally stopped at a distance where they could keep an eye on it but wouldn't be spotted at first glance.

Elder Diao narrowed his eyes, observing the underground palace. Their sect hadn't dealt with this place before so he wasn't too clear on the situation. He could already see that it was huge though which meant that they'd have to cover a big area if they wanted to go with the suggestion disciple Mu of the Teng Yong Sect had made.

The others naturally observed the building as well but there wasn't much they could tell from this far away. Even though some of them had a high enough level to sense spiritual energy from this far away, there was no telling whether the people inside were their own or those of the demonic faction. Well, not on their own, at least.

Zhi Guan pulled out the flower map, earning himself an odd look from Elder Diao. He waved it toward the building while turning it on. "It's an invention of my second junior martial brother. With this, you can distinguish which faction a person is from." In fact, it could even distinguish between specific sects but he hadn't ever really used that setting so far.

Diao Huan raised his brows. "That's possible?" He wouldn't have thought but when he leaned closer and saw the multiple dots cluttered around the spot in the middle, he felt that it ought to be true. "Are those the disciples currently with us?"

Zhi Guan nodded and then unfolded the map, trying to see if he could get a read on the situation in the palace. Unfortunately ... "I have to get closer to check who is inside."

Diao Huan hummed and looked at the building again. "Let's go together with the stronger disciples and make a quick decision based on what you see." He turned to look at his own disciples, quickly pointing out a few of them whom he wanted with them when they made their way in.

According to what they knew, there shouldn't be as many disciples in the underground palace any longer. With this group, they should be able to win, especially if they were pre-warned thanks to the gadget Zhi Guan had. As for the other disciples, he'd rather have them rest up. The distance they had traveled to the border town and then from there to this place had been long, after all. While the weakest disciples had been carried by the stronger ones for most of the way, they were also the ones who were the worst in a fight. He didn't want to introduce that kind of worry to the possible upcoming fight.

Their final group consisted of a dozen disciples. Of course, the five disciples from the Teng Yong Sect all joined in, with Zhi Guan even taking the lead since he was the one with the map. Together, they moved out, finding a hiding spot closer to the main gate.

Zhi Guan looked at the map, his brows raising faintly. "It seems the ones inside are all our people."

Diao Huan glanced at the map but couldn't really figure out what difference there should be so he simply nodded. "Then we don't have to worry too much. Can you tell how close they are?"

"Pretty close. Probably somewhere not far from the entrance." He couldn't actually see individual rooms on the map which was something he should mention to his second junior martial brother after he went back but ... based on his experience, they might actually be around the room where he and Liu Bao Ru had hidden the bodies before. "Chances are they have dealt with everyone from the demonic faction already. We should make sure not to get hit as soon as we open the door though."

Diao Huan nodded. "In that case, maybe one of you should take the lead since you'd get recognized more easily? Otherwise, I can also just set up a shield." If a disciple attacked, he wasn't too worried but he'd rather not come to blows with one of the Elders from the other sects. If he did, things might turn out badly.

Zhi Guan looked at the gate and then turned off the flower map. "I'll go. Everyone else should wait here." He glanced at his third junior martial brother but after seeing their little junior the way he had been, he currently didn't dare to take any risks when it came to the others. His juniors were his responsibility. So even though he trusted Shen Lei to protect Luo Lin, he'd rather take on this task by himself first.

Elder Diao didn't have an issue with this decision either. He simply used the time to turn to one of his disciples and had them return to where the others were hiding so they'd come over and would be ready to get onto their task as soon as the people from the Teng Yong Sect and Zhen Yan Sect knew that they had come.

Meanwhile, Zhi Guan simply walked up to the gate and opened it wide. As soon as he did, he saw a few disciples gathered around a door and the figure of his Master further in the back, holding Yun Bei Fen's spiritual beast. When he did, he sighed. Even though nothing had changed, he felt a bit better seeing one more person who was important to him being alright. Under the current circumstances, that was already a lot.
