Long Shu Fen pursed her lips. "That might just work." Yes, the chance was slim but she'd rather bet on it than sit here and not even try. The risk of letting a traitor go unchecked was simply too high for that.

Elder Meng looked from one person to the other and raised his brows. "Would the guardian of the Li Ren Sect agree to do this?" He was a lot younger than the other two and had only been a young disciple back when the last war was fought. As a result, he wasn't all that clear on the relationship between the four guardians. To him, they only carried the same title because they all had abilities. He couldn't even say for sure how familiar they were.

Long Shu Fen immediately nodded. "Yes, he would. In fact, if it's him, I can even tell him about the reason for all of this and we could check the Li Ren Sect as well." Not that she thought there was a traitor in the Li Ren Sect or that if there was one, the person was in a high position. It only seemed to be their own sect that was doubtful right now.

Meng Qing didn't question this any further when Blue Butterfly said so. "Then I guess that's settled. We shouldn't mention anything to the others when they arrive. Not until this has been cleared up. Right now, we really can't be sure who is actually on our side so even if it is about someone we are very familiar with, there would be too much of a risk."

Elder Cai nodded. "I agree. The disciples shouldn't be informed either. Let's just keep an eye out for how everyone behaves and make any further decisions based on that."

Long Shu Fen nodded as well. "I'll leave this place in your hands. If we do find something in the sect, we'll come back immediately to take the person down."

Elder Cai nodded once more. "Make sure to check everything though. If there is one person ..." As much as he hated the thought of even that being the case, since he had accepted that there was a certain chance, he wouldn't discount the possibility of there being a second or even third person. They couldn't be sure.

Long Shu Fen hummed. "Don't worry. I'm probably more suspicious of this than you are." After all, her trust in her sect had long since been diminished and she also didn't know most of the Elders and hardly any of them well enough to have scruples in thinking they might have done anything. She certainly wouldn't let any possible clue slip through her fingers.

She didn't dwell on it and instead turned in the direction of the gate. It would take a while for the other sects to arrive. At that time, maybe it would be good if she was still here. Not just that but she kind of wanted to know what Zhi Guan's thoughts would be at that time. Would he sense that there was something else afoot?

She hoped not but between being in the sects and the danger simply stemming from vital information getting into the wrong hands and this place where a traitor could do even worse things, she wondered if his perception might become even clearer and he'd figure something else out.

Come to think of it ... It might be a good idea to take Zhi Guan along on her trip back to the Jian Chu Sect. If she did, maybe he would notice something she and Shang Qiang couldn't. But then, Zhi Guan would likely want to stay with his junior martial brother and it would also be difficult to explain why she wanted to take this seemingly random disciple with her. The Elders might have some questions about it.

Long Shu Fen glanced at Cai Wei and Meng Qing again but without knowing either of them better, she couldn't even guess what they were currently thinking apart from the likely frustration at the demonic faction. And even that might be her wrong impression. After all, while it hadn't seemed to be that way, there was always a minuscule chance that one of them was the actual traitor and was simply able to hide himself deeply enough, not even slipping up in such a situation. If this was the case, she definitely couldn't do anything that would make them focus more on Zhi Guan. Although, well, it might already be too late for that. They had seen her with him several times, after all.

She barely suppressed a sigh and spoke up again. "I will wait a while more and then leave ahead of time. The White Jade should arrive sooner than the sects will be here and I'd rather not waste more time." After all, searching the whole sect grounds would take quite a long time and in the meantime, the traitor would arrive here which would put everyone in danger. How could she not rush?

The Elders naturally also understood. In fact, Elder Meng even urged her to hurry. "There is nothing else to do here save than waiting. The guardian might as well already make a move. After all, the Elders and disciples should have left the sect already so the search could begin immediately. This might earn us a little more time to discover them if there really is a traitor."

Long Shu Fen pondered and then nodded. Yes, indeed. Why waste any more time here? Even if the Jian Chu Sect hadn't started rushing over here, she'd also get to see so when she went there. Plus, she could already check again whether Shang Qiang was ready to go with her so it wasn't like there was anything else to do. Not to mention that whether she waited here or there really made no difference. In fact, waiting there might be better as it'd give her the chance to get right onto her search.

Thinking it through, she nodded with conviction. "Then I'll leave now. Good luck to you. I'm afraid I won't make it back before the beginning of the fight." At the very least, the chance of that was small. Having said this, she opened her dreamscape and left the hall immediately, taking a last look at the two Elders in front of her and then at all the people gathered in this hall. Finally, she turned around and left back to the Jian Chu Sect.
