I Wanna Be The Very Best

Chapter 141: Hoenn League Finals Part 1

It's a busy evening for the amour couple to say the least with a lot going on tomorrow. It's going to be a pretty hectic day to say the least but they are willing to embrace the chaos, due to the end result they may end up with.

First of all, Ash will battle with Brendan in the final of the Hoenn league. It's a battle against a trainer who won this league last year and even beat the elite 4. A trainer who only was defeated by Steven and his Metagross. This year he's yet to even lose a Pokemon and that's not something that should be taken lightly.

As for Serena, tomorrow is the day that she's scheduled to have her first ever live concert from Ever Grande stadium. After the battle finishes it's going to be a tight turnaround to get everything up and running before they are due to start. There is just as much planning and organising to do to make this all work as there is for Ash's battle.

The Kalos queen in her preparations, finds herself on the phone to her agent pretty much constantly as her and Aria sort out as much as they can before tomorrow. She still needs to choose her outfit and get everything ready for the battle as well. In a way she sort of feels selfish that she's focused so much on this when she feels like her only goal should be to make sure Ash is okay before his big battle tomorrow. After all it is her job as his fiancée and future wife to support his dreams.

Ash doesn't share that same opinion of course with him wanting Serena to follow her own goals as much as his own. If anything he's a little upset that he can't handle some of these calls for his future wife. Instead he needs to do his own preparation for Brendan.

Speaking of which, preparing for a battle against a man who has been untouchable so far makes things pretty difficult to say the least. So far Brendan has used a different team each battle and never his full 6 Pokémon. It's not exactly easy to choose a team of 6 when your opponent has so many options.

The problem is, Brendan must be having the same issue considering Ash has such a wide range of Pokemon to choose from as well.

With that in mind, Ash just chooses a well balanced team of 6 that he knows well and can trust. After that he decides to focus on Brendan's battle style and tendencies to see if he can get the upper hand anywhere.

Serena soon enters the living room after a long while on the phone before she slams the device down on the table. She soon takes a small sigh before she remarks "Well I think that's over for now. Sorry I've been so busy Ash but this concert is taking so long to prepare for."

Ash looks over at his fiancée with a smile as he exclaims "It's okay beautiful, you really should never need to apologise for being busy when it's something you want to do. Your goals, dream and work is just as important as mine. Oh and by the way, I've took care of dinner and plated yours up on the table. I've made some sort of cheesy pasta from your cook book but I'm not so sure it's as nice as it was when you made it last."

Serena is slightly upset that she wasn't the one to cook for her future husband tonight, considering he has a big battle tomorrow and she definitely feels the need to take care of him. However at the same time she is more than won over by the sweetness her man is showing her.

The Kalos queen soon places a bright smile on her face as she takes a seat next to her man on the sofa. She leans over and gives him a kiss before she replies "You are the sweetest a human can be, thank you Ashy."

Ash smiles as he remarks with love in his voice "Nowhere near as sweet as you my angel, and definitely not as sweet as those strawberry lips of yours."

Serena can't help but smile and blush thanks to the onslaught of compliments she's receiving from the man she's engaged to marry. If she didn't know the rules already they established already, she'd think Ash was doing this to try and get some special alone time with her. For that he'll need to wait until tomorrow after hopefully he becomes a Hoenn league winner and she's put on her first ever concert. After that maybe they'll both get something a little sweeter to taste.
