Chapter 143: Serena's Big Concert

The dust settles in the Ever Grande stadium after a thrilling battle between Ash and Brendan. It's a battle that many will be talking about for years to come and those that got to witness it live will always remember where they were. The lucky people who got to watch such a contest live in the stadium will tell their grandchildren about the day Ash Ketchum won the Hoenn league.

For now though the stadium is empty in the stands as workers go around to clean before the next big event of the day. Down where the battlefield would usually be, the staff are setting up and making plans for the events to come later on tonight.

In a few hours time, Ash will be receiving his Hoenn league winner trophy from Mr Goodshow, in front of a packed out crowd. It won't be the only award given out of the night but it'll be the one that everyone will be tuning in to watch given out. After all who isn't interested to see what the champion has to say and what he plans to do with his right to challenge the elite 4.

After the champion has addressed the region, it'll be time for his queen to take to the stage and put on her first ever live concert. In truth there would probably not be an awards show if there wasn't something like this to follow it up. However, there is an element of excitement around the place that Serena will be performing live tonight. One as a singer but also as a performer they hope.

Naturally going from a battle to a concert/performance, leads to a different audience flocking towards the stadium. Many young girls and their mothers of course who Serena inspires, as well as those veteran showcase fans who will pay to see the Kalos queen no matter where she is or what she is doing.

The streets are already packed with people getting to the stadium early to pick up some food or shop for merchandise. The line for a stall selling Kalos queen themed merchandise extends for a block or so, and is definitely going to be a big winner of tonight's events.

As for the gang, traveling outside of the stadium is a bit of a no go at the moment with the risk of Ash and Serena being recognised simply too high. With May with them as well it's definitely not a good idea.

Ash currently finds himself laid out on the sofa in the trainer's lounge with his eyes closed as he relaxes after one of the most intense battles of his life. After such a battle he needs a moment to really reflect on what he's done.

After winning his 4th regional championship, you'd think the feeling of winning a pokemon league would have somewhat gotten old by now. After all, winning the league is only really the stepping stone to facing the elite 4 and the champion. Winning his 5th regional championship is Ash's main goal so he can't celebrate too much.

But for Ash he doesn't ever really got lost in that fact. It took him 8 years of hard work to finally win a pokemon league so no matter what, he'll always celebrate and appreciate taking home the trophy. After all there are some trainers out there who work just as hard as him and never end up winning a pokemon league.

The champion of 4 regions continues to relax for a moment until he hears a patterning of feet he is very familiar with and one he isn't so familiar with.

He soon looks up as he spots Pikachu running into the room with his son little Eevee not too far behind. It doesn't take the electric mouse long to jump up onto his trainer's shoulder while Eevee leaps up into his lap. Pikachu soon smiles at his trainer as he lets off a happy "Pi Pika pi!"

Ash smiles at his first Pokémon before he remarks "Thanks buddy, and I'm super proud of you and the others for how hard you worked to win the league. It's been a long time coming but we can finally say that we are Hoenn league winners."

Pikachu seems pretty happy with that prospect as he nods to his trainer. It has been a lot of hard work to get here but they are in a great position to take on the Hoenn elite 4 and Steven for their 5th regional championship. If they can beat him then they would be a step closer to achieving their dream together.
