After the phone call, I could feel my body shutting down. My thoughts became blurred, and I couldn't even tell if I was sitting down or standing up.

I saw a blur rush to my side, shortly following the call. "Cami!"

"Daddy, is that you?"

"Angel, please don't do this to me right now," he begged, lifting me up so that I was in his arms.

I couldn't feel my legs anymore. "My legs feel like jello," I giggled like an idiot, flailing them around.

Luke put me down onto the car seat, reappearing on the other side.

"Baby, you worried the f.uck out of me. Don't ever do that again."

I pouted against the seat. "I'm not a baby, I'm a woman!" I argued, crossing my arms in front of my chest, making his eyes trail down to my cleavage.

"I know, God, believe me, I know," he said, eyes locking onto the road.

I continued to stare at him, my mind bouncing off the walls.

The traffic lights are so pretty at night. But Luke's face is prettier. Wait, no stop, don't think about him. Focus on counting.

One, two, three, square, five...

Square is definitely my favorite number.

"Do you know why I love youuuuu?" I bursts out goofily, leaning my head against the back of the seat.

Luke huffed, but decided to answer me softly. "Why?"

"I love it when you call me Angel. It makes me feel good inside," I rambled, "like there's a fire in me and you just light it on."

He laughed, rolling his eyes.

"But guess what, Lukey?" I asked hazily, almost not able to open my eyes any longer.

"What, Angel?"

"You're my Angel too."

"Good morning!" Luke's voice boomed in my ears and I immediately placed my hands on either side of my head.

"Jesus Christ, damn it, OW!" I hollered back, squeezing my eyes shut even tighter.

I felt a hand stroking my hair and I fluttered open my eyes. I saw him grimace, and I reached out to touch his face.

"Don't frown," I whispered, "I don't like seeing you unhappy," in a small voice.

Luke closed his eyes and slowly opened them, getting rid of the frown lines I oh-so-hated.

"Better?" He asked in a much more acceptable tone.

I nodded, remorse flooding into my stomach. "I'm sorry about last night. God I don't even remember half of it. Did I say anything stupid?" I asked nervously, afraid I accidentally blurted out my confession of love for my step-father or something.

"No. Nothing at all. You passed out when I brought you into my car," he told me, looking off into space.

"You're a terrible liar, you know that right?"

I felt his large hands start messaging the slides of my head. I let out a small moan, thinking of how they would feel all over my body. Damn him and his distractions.

Luke interrupted my dirty fantasies, effectively ignoring my question and accusation as well.

"I wish you didn't do that last night. You have to come with me to work today."

"Ugh, shit, I'm so sorry, I forgot," I said, rubbing my face.

He stopped his motions and I nearly whimpered from the loss of movement.

"Do you want to explain your behavior from yesterday?" He asked me seriously.

"Uh, I was angry at you?" I said uncertainly. Stating what happened out loud made me feel even more foolish.

"So that made you think you could go off and do something like that without getting punished?" He glared at me, eyes holding an emotion so deep I wanted to sink back into the bed until he could no longer see me.

"I said I was s-sorry. I-I just didn't k-know how to cope. I t-thought you didn't want me," I admitted and then watched the reaction on his face. His eyes widened and I saw his Adam's apple on his neck bob up and down. There was two ways to take the sentence, and it was clear he understood it exactly the way I wanted him to.

There was a look on his face I've never seen before. Resignation? He was giving up? His face made it look like he just tore down a gigantic wall he had built up around himself.

"Get dressed," he said sharply at me. "I'll meet you downstairs."

And with that, he walked out the door with a slam, leaving me utterly horny and once again, confused.
