"Luke, please don't make me go," I whined pathetically in the passenger seat as he rolled his eyes.

"Cami, it's been over two weeks. You need to get back."

I huffed but stayed quiet, because I knew he was right. I groaned silently when I arrived in the front of my high school. Because of the break and then the trip to Chicago, I had gotten the pleasure to have nearly three weeks of school-less bliss. To be frank, I didn't miss a thing, besides Ashton, of course.

The car stopped and I felt Luke's eyes on my pouting face.

"Angel, you gotta go back sometime," he reminded me, giving me a quick kiss on the forehead, a gesture that was innocent enough for a step-father to give to his daughter.

I sighed heavily, kicking the door open and swung my bag around me.

"I'll pick you up later," Luke promised.

I nodded. "I love you," I said, pouring all my emotions into my words.

He gave me a little grin. "I love you, Cami."

I bit my lip, and paranoia made me look around to see if anyone saw what Luke and I just exchanged. I quickly turned around and started walking away from the car, afraid that if I didn't, I probably wouldn't leave.

Upon returning to school, everyone was suddenly interested in why I disappeared for so long. I told them that I was on a business trip with my step-father, and flashed them a smile that could only be translated to say fuck off.

Even Michael Clifford, the most well known fuckboy in the school, decided to ask me how things were, and I scowled at everyone's strange behavior. I was a nobody then; why is everything changing now?

He ruffled his dyed hair, which was the color of blood, asking me if I wanted to watch Nextflix and chill later. Who the hell do you think I am?

I immediately declined, which resulted in him call me a "stuck up whore." Funny how things change when a girl says no.

I said no, obviously because I have respect for myself. That, and the realization of how childish the guys are here. I could no longer look at a boy my age and feel an ounce of attraction for them. After being with Luke, the boys here looked like little brats.

"Cami!" Ashton screamed, making the entire hallway stare at me.

"Ashton," I said, smiling weakly back at all the pairs of eyes staring at me.

"You're back!" He exclaimed, pulling me into another hug.

"You just saw me yesterday."

"Not at school," he defended, walking me to my next class.

"I don't even know why I'm here. I've basically completed the whole school year," I said, sulking visibly.

Ashton rolled his eyes. "Hey. Not all of us finished all their classes and are little geniuses like you."

I stuck out my tongue at him. "Jerk."

"Bitch," he replied, and we both laughed.

"I'm sorry I never got around to texting you," I apologized, and started to explain what Jocelyn did. I told him had to move into the cabin for a couple days. Ashton looked murderous when he heard Jocelyn slapped me.

"Well I completely understand. Thanks for letting me know," he murmured, dropping me off at my next class. "Oh, I forgot to ask you. Do you need a ride home today?"

I checked my phone to make sure Luke hadn't canceled on me.

"Nope, Luke's gonna pick me up."

He winked and walked away, leaving me scoffing at his subtleness. I was about to walk through the classroom door until I heard a ring from my phone.

One missed call from Jocelyn.

Lol guys so like me and that guy stopped talking. Shit happened and he ended up being a person I didn't think he was so I'm glad we never started dating. Anyway, I really really hope this story gets 50k by the time it ends!!
