Guys can we take a moment and appreciate how well this picture goes with this chapter? K sorry enjoy xx

I didn't know exactly how much time passed, but I did know that it was way too early to see Calum again.

"Cami," his familiar voice stated and I looked up to see his big brown eyes boring into mine.

"I didn't say you could come," I said, threateningly low.

"Well, I needed to see you. I wanted to know if you were okay."

"Do I look okay to you?" I retorted bitterly, watching his face to detect any kind of lie he may try to pull off.

"No," he admitted, reaching out his hand to help me off the ground, "but that doesn't mean you're any less beautiful than the last time I saw you." He added the last part softly, and I almost thought I had imagined it.

I narrowed my eyes, eyeing his hand before pushing myself off the floor, dusting my ass off. He wasn't lying when he said that, and that bothered me even more.

"How did you find me? And why didn't I recognize your number?" I instantly went right in for the questions. I wanted answers, and this time, I wouldn't be as patient as I was with Jocelyn.

He rolled his eyes at me, probably because I sounded like an interviewer trying to get into Harry Styles pants.

"News about Luke and you are all over the news. They are trying to find Jocelyn. The only reason I told her to go and not call the cops myself was because I thought she would have shot me. And that number was for car services only. It was discarded when I left Chicago."

I gave him a an incredulous look. "Okay, how could have you been in love with my mother? What the hell are you trying to pull because I can't have anymore shit on my plate." My hands moved constantly in the air to prove my point.

"Come with me and I'll explain," he bargained. "I know you gotta be sick of this hospital."

I bit the inside of my cheek as I thought over his offer.

"What is going on? Who the hell is this?" Ashton asked, coming out of the room and standing behind me defensively.

"This is the guy that's been screwing Jocelyn," I said in a dark yet amusing tone.

Ashton's eyebrows raised and he scoffed, scanning him from head to toe.

"How predictable."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Calum questioned, starting to get aggravated with us teaming up on him.

"Nothing. It's a shame you're a dick; you're cute, too."

Calum frowned in confusion and I shot Ashton an annoyed look, as he raised his arms in surrender.

"Sorry, I call them as I see them."

"Ash you need to get laid, like, soon."

"God, I know."

Calum waved his hand in front of our faces to break up the conversation and our heads snapped back to look at him.

"What?" We snapped in unison.

"I still want you to come with me. We don't even have to go anywhere if you want; you can come back to my house."

I exasperatedly rubbed the temples of my head. "If I go with you, will you promise to leave me alone?"

"Cami, you can't be serious," Ashton exclaimed.

"Shut up. I was talking to her."

I glared at Calum for talking to Ashton that way, but I sighed as I made up my mind. Turning around, I looked into Ashton's eyes, which were looking at me in disbelief.

"I'll be okay," I whispered.

"That's what you said last time when you went to go meet your mom," he reminded and I flinched at just the thought.

"I'll be okay," I repeated with more confidence, trying to convince myself.

Calum had a hopeful expression on his face, and I wonder what the hell I was thinking just a few weeks ago, trying to replace Luke for Calum in my heart.

"Fine. Let's go."
