Calum's mouth moved against mine and my eyes snapped open. He groaned against me as I pushed his chest back harshly with my hand.
"What the fuck?" I exclaimed, watching him pant as he pulled back.
"I don't understand; why don't you like me?" He asked, hurt and confused.
"What can I do more? I try so hard, just hoping that one day, I may see the look of caring or love in your eyes. I don't know what I'm always doing wrong!" Calum yelled, and I cringed, wanting to disappear into thin air.
"Because I'm in love with Luke!" The words escaped my mouth and I have never regretted anything more in my entire life.
"W-what?" Calum asked, and I cursed, hitting myself in the head.
Why am I so fucking stupid?
"I didn't say anything," I countered softly.
"It sounded like you said you were in love with your stepfather."
I was crying again, for the fifth time today. "He's not my stepfather. They got a divorce," I cried, shaking my head, and I realized I wasn't only trying to convince Calum, but myself as well.
"I love him, and he's gone."
Calum's nostrils flared in anger and jealousy, and I watched him walk closer to me. For a split second, I thought he was going to strike me, but instead he pulled me into an embrace.
"Don't say that. He's not gone yet."
I sobbed into his shoulder pathetically as he rubbed soothing motions into the side of my arm. I knew that letting him comfort me was a bad idea, for the both of us, but under these situations my life has been tossed into, I could no longer think straight to make a smart decision.
I could hear him mumbling words against my temple but I couldn't make them out. There was only one thing I could hear, though, and it hurt me more than it should have had.
"Why is it always Luke? Why do they always chose Luke?"
