Chapter 25

I carefully folded the last of my clothes and placed them into the blue cramped suit case.

Tonight would be the night we went to America. I was beyond nervous; I figured once I was out here I would never go back. I mean, what reason would there be to go? My mom is in prison, Scott is here, and I hated life here.

"Hey. Whenever you're done packing would you mind putting your bags outside?" Harry said as he popped his head in the door.

"Sure thing." I said with a small smile.

You know that feeling you get before someone breaks up with you? The feeling that everything is changing and you begin to prepare yourself, but you don't do it yourself because you still want it to last. Oh, it was definitely there. At this point, I was waiting for it to happen.

It's the small things. He doesn't talk to me as much, he hangs around Madison more than me. When we started this tour, he carried my bags and such. Now, I do those things by myself. I mean I don't mind, but the thought was cute.

I picked up two of the four bags I had and lugged them to the door. As I was attempting to open it, Niall did it for me. "Here i'll get the rest!" He offered with a smile. I smiled back at him and nodded a 'thank you'.

Funny, Niall acts more like a boyfriend than Harry does.

I pulled my bags out and set them down with the many the boys had left out there. Minutes later, Niall appeared with the last two.

"Geeze, did you pack bricks!" He teased.

"You expected me to leave my pet bricks, Tom and Mary, all alone while I went on tour with you guys!? You my friend, are crazy." I shot back as a joke. After a moment of silence, Niall began to laugh. Although, it was most likely a pity laugh.

The bus' door swung open and Harry came out. "Management wanted to meet with us before we headed to the airport. They're sending a car." Harry told us, not bothering to look up from his phone, which he was typing away on. I'd almost bet it was Madison.

Niall sent me a sympathetic look. Too bad I didn't want his sympathy.

"Amber, do you mind telling the rest of the guys?" Harry spoke once more, not making eye contact.

"Whatever." I told him before heading over to the field in which everyone else was kicking around a football.

They were all so carefree, restless, and fun. I couldn't help but notice that I don't belong with them. I mean, I don't fit in with these guys. Not one bit. After awhile, being around people that are nothing like you can eat at you. Lately, I feel so alone. So lost.

"Management is sending a car, might wanna come back." I interrupted.

"What do they want now?" Louis whined. I shrugged and began to walk away, but not before I heard Zayn's explanation.

"Harry wants Madison to join the tour." He spoke almost as if he wanted me to hear.

"Ass." Liam responded.

I walked faster, not wanting to hear anything else. It really did hurt.

How do you even respond to that kind of behaviour? 'Oh hey i'm jealous, you're treating me like shit and it's not okay. Oh, but hey my name isn't Amber and you actually know nothing about me!' I think not.

I was halfway back to the bus before Niall yelled and let us know the car was there and we had to hurry. I began running to the car as well as the three boys behind me. We got into the van. Zayn sat up front with the driver. Harry, Niall, and Louis sat in the middle in that order. I sat in the back with Liam.

The ride was silent and you could almost cut the air with a knife. I mean, I might as well have done just that.

We pulled up in front of a small, uninhabited coffee shop. After much shoving, we managed to get out of the car and into the shop.

"Hello boys and Amber!" Simon greeted.

"Hey!" We all responded in unison. After that, we all sat down.

"So, Harry you had something that you wanted to do. Am I correct." Simon said. Harry just silently nodded.

We all sat there quietly, waiting for him to continue.

"Well don't you think everyone else should be aware of what you want?" Simon said.

Harry huffed and spoke. "I was hoping Madison could come along with us for the last leg of the tour."

And like that, all eyes were on me. I looked straight ahead and kept on my poker face.

"Harry, I don't think that's such a great idea." Simon spoke.

"Why the hell not!" Harry snapped at him. Everyone looked at Harry, shocked. He was never like this with me and apparently not with them either.

"Look, your girlfriend is already here on your behalf." Simon started. Harry glared at me for a second and then turned back to Simon. I couldn't help but feel unwanted. I cowered back into my seat.

"And no one else got to invite guests. You should be grateful." He finished.

Harry began to plead. "I haven't seen her in so long! I swear, if anything goes wrong i'll take full responsibility. I'll do what ever you want me to."

My heart sank a bit, but I refused to let anyone know because one again, everyone was staring at me. We all knew this wasn't okay.

"Fine." Simon said. Harry began to beam. "If Amber is okay with it."

He starred at me as if I determined whither he lived or not.

"Yeah sure." I said with a smile. I wasn't going to be the one to tell him he couldn't take her along. I wasn't going to make things worse. But at this rate, I sure as hell wasn't going to make anything around here better.

"Well, now that that's settled, you must hurry to the airport." Simon announced, looking directly at me.

I couldn't tell whether he was mad at me for not saying no, or if he was just faking concern.

Either way, I was going to America with One Direction and Madison, some girl who I still haven't properly met. This is going to be fucking awesome!
