Ryker stealthily threw himself out my window and climbed down the tree before I could stop him. I screamed obscenities at him from my window. Good thing I didn't have any neighbors for a few miles, otherwise I'd wake them all up. Ryker sprinted to my front yard and hopped on his motorcycle, driving away with perhaps the most embarrassing video in history.
I glanced down at my bunny pajama shorts that barely covered my ass and looked in the mirror. My hair was a mess from jumping all over the place and my gray eyes were huge. I couldn't bare to think what I had looked like on that video that would surely be all over the internet soon.
I ran over to my laptop and punched Twitter in the browser. I didn't have an acc and my video would most likely be uploaded here. I quickly made an acc and followed everyone from my school, including Ryker. And I waited. And waited. And refreshed the browser. And waited some more. No one posted my video, not even Ryker.
I would sit here all night if I had to. I would have to see the video first and report it. Then it would get deleted, right? I sure hoped so.
Then I called Xander. It was close to ten p.m. so I knew he would still be awake. The phone rang in my hand. He never picked up. Ugh, he was probably still mad at me for what I did in the parking lot earlier. I had no one else to call. I could have called Finn but I never got his number. I was out of options.
So, I called the person I hated the most.
"Hello," a deep voice drawled from the other line.
My heart beat picked up faster once I heard his voice. That made me even more angry.
"RYKER! YOU BETTER DELETE-"
Buzz.
The line went dead. He hung up on me.
I slammed my fist down on my keyboard, rattling the whole laptop. Everyone would see the video by the morning. I would do everything in my power to stay awake and wait for the video.
I don't know how long I sat staring at the screen and refreshing the page before I fell asleep in the computer chair.
~*~*~*~
My alarm burst to life and jolted me awake. I couldn't remember where I was for a moment as I stared at my laptop. Then I remembered falling asleep on the chair, waiting for the video of me dancing to be posted. I shot my arm out and hit the refresh button on Twitter. I scrolled up and down the page, but my video wasn't there. What the hell?
I threw on a purple hoodie and a pair of dark jeans with my favorite black converse and hastily redid my messy bun. It didn't come out much better. I looked in the mirror and groaned. I had stayed up too late last night and my eyes were red and puffy now. I had dark circles underneath them. I wasn't even sure makeup could fix it, so I didn't try. I rushed to school as quick as I could to see if anyone else was talking about the video that I had somehow not seen.
When I got there, everyone acted normal. Some people gave me high-fives for the drawing I had made yesterday. No one said anything about a crazy video of me. Something was fishy.
I walked into English and slumped down in my chair next to Xander. At first, he chose to ignore me but then he noticed my sour mood and tapped me. I picked my head up from where it had been resting on my arms and looked up at him. He made a disgusted face and said, "Ew, you look gross."
I rolled my eyes, "Thanks. I need to tell you-"
My desk tipped backwards and I flailed my arms.
"Careful, Angel. Looks like you're falling for me," Ryker whispered in my ear.
I smacked his arms off the back of my chair. I flew forwards again until my desk was firmly planted on the ground again. I twisted in my seat to glare at him.
