Chapter 22

The next day Scorpius woke up with a feeling something was wrong. He checked the time to see that it was only six o'clock. He then spotted the note on the floor "eh, that wasn't there last night" Scorpius unwillingly stepped out of bed and shuffled over to the note and picked it up, he sat on the edge of his bed and read the note to himself

"Scorpius" the note read "I know you will hate me for this, but I only did it to protect you. But I could not stay with you any longer. I could not put you in danger like that. I know Dad is coming to find me, and when he does he will be furious. He does love me, of course he does, or he wouldn't be looking for me, and he will be absolutely raged. And he will hurt anyone who had any part in this. So that means you. He will hurt you worst, possibly even worse than me, and I don't want that to happen. He will also hurt Narcissa, and I could not put her through that. And if your parents are back he will hurt them too, especially Draco, because you are their son. And also, Dad is still angry with Draco from their school years. I don't want anybody to be hurt. Dad wont find me where I am going. He wont even dream of it. I can't tell you where I am because I know you will come find me. You are not to look for me! Because Dad will know that I am wherever you are then, and he will find me. I hope you have a good Christmas and I will see you when we go back to school. Remember, don't look for me. I love you, Rose xxx" Scorpius had to lie down to take this in. A silent tear slid down his face when he realised Rose was gone. "I love you Rose" he said to the air "Why did you do this to me?" Scorpius got up out of his room and ran to Narcissa's room he banged on the door so loudly, not even thinking about the time

"GRANDMA! GRANDMA!" he screamed until Narcissa opened the door

"What's the matter Scorp?" she shouted, and then she notice the note on the floor by her feet

"You got one too" Scorpius whispered. He feel to the floor, his emotions taking over him and picked the note up

"Let me read it" Scorpius handed her the note and she read it. A silent tear fell down her face too, finally realising why her grandson was so upset. "Scorpius" she whispered back, sitting on the floor next to the upset boy. He looked up at him with a sorrowful face "Scorpius, at least you know she is ok. Most times this sort of things happen you don't even know if they are ok" 

"But" Scorpius sobbed, but not able to say any more Narcissa continued

"Scorpius listen, you are not to go look for her, I know you love her and you will miss her and you will be upset but you have to leave her. She hasn't broken up with you, you just won't see her for a bit. You have to understand that she did this for your sake, if she didn't need to do this she wouldn't. You have to understand that" Narcissa hugged Scorpius and he cried into her chest. 

"I can't leave her, what if she gets into trouble? What if she gets injured?" Scorpius asked, upset

"Come on on Scorpius! Man up! I know the love of your life has done a runner on you but you need to stop crying!" Narcissa joked, trying to cheer him up

"That's not helping Grandma" Scorpius said, but he laughed a bit too

"Yes, that's why your laughing isn't it? Because I'm making you so sad" Narcissa laughed, talking sarcastically

"Yes Grandma, that is why I'm laughing" Scorpius replied, laughing properly now

"Come on, let's go have breakfast" said Narcissa whilst getting up and pulling Scorpius onto his feet as well.

About an hour away Rose was lying in the guest bed in 14 Palmer Road. She hadn't slept all night worrying about how Scorpius was going to react. Cristina Dursley had been very kind to her seeing as she arrived with Dudley at gone midnight. Down the corridor Rose could hear shuffled footsteps heading towards her door.
