Chapter 30

The next week or so passed quickly. Everybody left the Burrow boxing day. Ron, Hermione, Hugo and Rose were visited everyday by the Potters. Soon it was time for the, to return to Hogwarts. Rose said goodbye to her parents and boarded the train with Albus at her side. She slid into the carriage and sat there silently, thinking

"What's up Rose?" Albus asked, noticing the worried look on Rose's face

"Scorpius hasn't sent me an owl since Christmas" Rose muttered, just loud enough for Albus to hear her. Albus moved over so he sat right next to Rose. He put an arm over her shoulders and squeezed her. 

"It'll be fine" he whispered. He leant forward to see Scorpius hug his grandmother goodbye and head to the train "There he is now, are you going to call him over?" Rose shook her head so Albus got up and opened the window "SCORP!" he called, to catch his attention "WE'RE IN HERE!" Scorpius nodded and walked in at the closed door. Ashlee also noticed Albus calling and walked into the compartments alongside Scorpius. Albus moved so he sat opposite Rose as the other two walked in.

"Hello!" Ashlee said, putting her trunk into the luggage rack above them and slid into the seat next to Albus "How are you? Nice Christmas?"

"Good" Rose said, looking up at Scorpius putting his trunk up "You?" 

"Great! And thanks for the hair stuff!" Ashlee grinned

"Your welcome" Rose laughed. Scorpius sat down next to Rose "How was your Christmas Scorp?"

"Boring as hell" he sighed "Parkinson and her Mother came round for Christmas day and I had to visit Mother's sister for boxing day, the only fun bit of Christmas was when you came round" 

"When did you go round Ro?" Ashlee asked

"Christmas eve, I begged mum and dad for him to come round but we ended up going to theirs, it was really awkward at first but they got over it. Oh, that reminds me, I didn't have this on me when I came round to yours and I didn't want to owl it, so here you go" Rose said, handing Scorpius a bag. He ripped it open and pulled out a pair of quidditch gloves, a broom tool kit and a pair of quidditch socks

"Thank you Rosie!" Scorpius said hugging her

"You're welcome, merry Christmas, and this, this was from my Grandma" Rose handed him the second package. He ripped it open and looked at the blue jumper in his hand 

"Thank you" he muttered. He stood up and reached up at put it in his trunk above them. Albus looked at Rose, she was evidently upset. Albus and Rose both sat wearing their jumpers from Christmas staring up at Scorpius. Ashlee sat staring out the window also wearing a jumper Molly had knitted for her. Rose watched Scorpius sit down the jumper put away soon to surely be forgotten about. She glanced over to Albus to see him looking at her with concerned eyes. She sighed and stood up

"I have to, um, I think I might see if I can find, Lil, I need to, um, I need to talk to her" Rose mumbled as she slipped out the compartment. She closed the door and sighed before looking at Scorpius. He looked confused as she turned and walked away.
