Chapter 35

About half an hour later Aofie and Albus walked into the common room looking very happy. Aofie put her bag on the table and sat on the arm of the sofa next to Rose.

"Hello!" Aofie exclaimed

"Why are you so happy?" Rose said, putting her quill down and re-reading through her essay 

"Oh, someone just got the punishment they deserved" Aofie grinned.

"No! You didn't?" Rose exclaimed, throwing her stuff to the floor and getting up to run

"No, Rose! He deserved it!" Albus said

"What did you do to him?" Rose demanded "TELL ME!" 

"We just hexed him a bit" Aofie said, and then very quietly "and maybe made him bleed a bit" it was very quiet but Rose heard. She ran out of the common room and started looking for Scorpius. She found him in 10 minutes in the girls bathroom on the first floor, the one occupied by Moaning Myrtle. Rose ran in to find Scorpius laying on the floor, blood all over his shirt and seeping through to his robes. Rose gasped and ran over to him

"Scorpius!" she exclaimed, kneeling down beside him

"Rose..." she whispered "Your friends... they..."

"I know what happened Scorp" Rose said, she pulled her wand out and tried to think of what to do to make him better

"They... Sectumsempra..." Scorpius whispered, using up any energy he had left. He couldn't move, his legs were probably broken and so was one of his arms. he tried to push himself up but he fell down again

"Stay still, you'll just do yourself more harm, I have to get someone, I don't know any spells on how to make you better, I'll be right back" Rose ran out of the bathroom and ran as fast as she could to the hospital wing, she yelled at the nurse there to come and help her and then ran back to Scorpius

"Madam Hilende is coming" Rose whispered, she tried to cover up the wounds on Scorpius's chest with her robes but the blood just kept pouring through. Madam Hilende rushed in with a stretcher levitated by her wand. Rose helped her lift Scorpius onto the stretcher and Madam Hilende rushed off to the hospital wing. Rose ran after her, following the levitating stretcher repeating over and over that Scorpius was going to be alright.

Rose spend the rest of her time that evening waiting for people to be allowed in to see Scorpius instead of doing her homework. At 8pm she was allowed in to see him, and she was glad she was the first there because Petunia came rushing in as soon as she heard the news that Scorpius was injured. However Scorpius demanded she go back to their common room so he could talk to Rose.

"So your talking to me now?" Scorpius joked as Rose sat on the seat next to his bed.

"I just want to know why you did it" Rose said, slowly, with a hint of sorrow in her voice.

"What?" Scorpius asked

"Start dating Petunia, I thought you loved me, I love you still Scorp" Rose said, tears threatening to take over.

"I didn't want to" Scorpius whispered

"What?"

"Mum, she made me, you know when your family came round on Christmas eve, she kept saying to Dad she hates you, so she forced me to start dating Petunia, even though I didn't want to"

"But why did you go with it? You let her kiss you" Rose stared down at the floor

"I...I don't know" Scorpius tried to look at Rose as she looked back up at him, but he couldn't. Rose worked out what he was thinking about

"You love her don't you?" Rose whispered, tears welling in her eyes

"N..No, of... of course not" Scorpius whispered back

"You don't love me any more...You love her...Goodbye Scorpius" Rose kissed Scorpius' forehead for the last time and pushed herself off the bed. She turned around and walked out of the hospital wing, tears falling down her face.

"Rose, I'm sorry" Scorpius whispered, but it was too late for Rose to hear
