A/N: kinda short. Comment & Vote

Puppy came to visit me on Thursday.

His bubbly personality really took the edge off the monotony of my time spent here. Catching up with Brune only filled so much time and he had a bunch of other patients to attend to.

Puppy flung himself at me when he was led in. Kyle was doing the nightly duties so Puppy had about two or three hours with me. "Scott!" He breathed into my shoulder. "I miss you so much."

I stroked his hair. "I miss you too Puppy. Are you having fun with Bailey?"

He drew back looking confused. "I saw...four lizards. Little ones. Orange and brown. But uhm, you can't touch them cos our hands burn them."

"Oh really?" I asked.

"Yeah really. Can I have jello?"

I smiled and reached for the cup I'd had them drop off earlier. He slurped at it excitedly. It was good to see him eat something other than the oatmeal. "Other than the lizards are you having fun?"

"Not fun. The showers are cold. And-and there's not lightbulb in my room! Or TV! And-and they can't buy a new light bulb because they don't have money."

I frowned. "What?"

"Um...I know I shouldn't listen but I do sometimes cos it's so easy to hear. But they do it. Why don't we do it?"

I paused.

Our sexual relationship was still developing. Partly due to the fact I didn't think Puppy was mature enough to take that step and partly due to the fact I didn't think I could handle sleeping with anyone but Danny. Right now at least.

"When we're ready we will." I decided after a moment. "Besides those things are you having fun?"

Puppy sighed, finishing off the jello. "The TV is really little and they only have movies. No shows."

I frowned. "Puppy, not everyone has everything we do."

"He doesn't have a place to put his car! And-and they wanna have a baby but they can't cos they don't make enough money. Maybe you can share some?"

"Money isn't something you just share Puppy. I work hard for my money."

"But so does Kyle!"

"I'm not disagreeing with you Puppy. Things are that rough for them, huh?"

"They have no milk."

"Jesus. Okay." I ran my hand over my face. "Enough about that for now. You're with me now. Maybe we can watch some TV?"

"M-maybe you can talk to me?"

"Of course." I sat up a bit more, pulling Puppy across my lap properly. "What do you want to talk about?"

He shook his head. "I don't understand."

I could see him thinking--the way he looked so determined, mouthing words mutely in concentration. I gave him time to assemble his words. "I want you to talk to me. Like Bailey does when he's cleaning. I don't say anything."

"Oh." I nodded my head. "So you just want to listen then?"

He beamed and nodded his head. "That's what I mean Scott! I didn't say the words right though." He added in a hint of embarrassment.

"You said your words just fine." I assured him. "Now...what can I tell you about... How about I tell you the story of the first horse I got?"

He nodded his head eagerly.
