"Stop pacing," Caven said. "She's fine."
"You don't know that."
I continued to pace back and forth in the kitchen, while Caven relaxed on the couch. How could he relax during a time like this?
The front door opened and Maxine walked through. She looked decently relaxed, compared to what I expected. "Well? How'd it go? What'd he say? What'd you say? Are you okay? Was he alone?" I didn't mean to bombard her with questions, but I couldn't help myself.
"It was fine. He got the message." She stated simply. "Don't worry about it anymore."
"Max!" Caven called from the couch. Maxine sat down in the recliner. "Check it. I'm almost to the dungeon boss."
"Cool." She sat down beside him and watched as he played his video game. I still paced in the kitchen, this time slower.
