June 17, 2016 - Early Morning

Rays of the shining sun seeped inside Hinako's small apartment room from the window. It slowly fills the room, the rays making their way to the woman's eyes. The intensity of the shining sun slowly woke her up, her blurry vision after sleeping was finally clearing out.

"Huh?" Hinako gathered her thoughts for a while, remembering the events that took place yesterday. She places a hand over her forehead. 'That's right. I think I had a fever yesterday.'

Hinako tries to feel her body, to know if she's still tired or not to go to school. She moved her arms and legs and felt her upper and lower body. Hinako felt better than before but she was still tired. It was like she doesn't want to move an inch from her bed and just rest the whole day.

'No, I have to go to school today. Final exams are already next month,' Hinako slowly shuffled to her right, cuddling herself since it was still cold. "Huh?"

Hinako stared at the person who was sitting at the other side of the room, sleeping. It took her a few seconds to blink in realization to know who that person was. She shot up, sitting from her futon with a red blush painting across her cheeks.

"D-Douji-senpai?" Hinako immediately covered her mouth, trying not to wake her senior up. Then, she calms down, placing her hand down to her chest. 'What is he doing here? Did he really stay here to watch over me?'

Hinako looked at Gil's sleeping face. He seemed more calm and relaxed, his facial expression was soft. It was like seeing a vulnerable side of him. Then, Gil sneezed to which Hinako was shocked. Did he sleep like that the whole night without covering himself with a blanket?

Hinako got up from her bed and took out a blanket from the closet beside her. She approached the sleeping Gil and sat on her knees, slowly placing the blanket on him. Hinako looked at the golden-headed man's face after her hands touched his shoulders and wrapping him neatly with the blanket. She didn't want to wake him up because it looked like he was having a nice rest.

All of a sudden, her heart tugged in pain again. Just like last night, it ached. Hinako held her own chest, feeling her own heartbeat. It was beating at a fast pace while looking at Gil. She thought to herself that it can't be right. Was she actually starting to have feelings for him? In the course of two months since entering high school, she never looked at Gil that way because they were, like, enemies. But now, after seeing him take care of her, she can't help but wonder if it's all right to hold onto the feelings she's having for a little longer, to see if it's true or not.

Hinako slowly got up from the floor and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. She turns the stove on with a pot filled with water above it and started to make miso soup. When the rice was cooked, Hinako started to make onigiri wrapped in seaweed. After finishing four onigiris, she proceeded to pour the miso soup into two bowls and a piece of mochi in it. Lastly, Hinako took some oranges from a basket on top of a cabinet beside the kitchen sink.

"Douji-senpai?" Hinako sat on her knees and placed a hand over his shoulder, shaking him lightly as she could.

Gil's eyes squirmed and slowly opens up. His blurry vision began to clear and met Hinako's brown sugar eyes. "Suzu...hana?"

Hinako gave her senior a warm smile. "It's time for breakfast, senpai. I made some onigiri, if you like."

"O-Oh," Gil slowly sat up, Hinako retreating a little from him. He rubbed his eyes and stretched a little, releasing a sigh. "How are you feeling?"
