Chapter 16~ Express, Explosions, and End of Summer

The rest of summer vacation went by very quickly.  The days were spent either in Fred and George's room, or in the air, practicing for the upcoming Quidditch season.  Ginny's free time however, was spent writing in her new-found diary.

The morning of September 1st had the Burrow about ready to fall in on itself.  People running here and there, looking for socks, ties, quills, books, and hats being just a few of the items that were searched for that morning.  Within a few hours of waking up we were all sat comfortably in the Flying Car that had been enchanted to expand inside to make room for ten people, eight trunks, four owls and a very fat rat.

We got to the station with about fifteen minutes to spare, but we didn't get to the pillar that was the entrance to platform nine and three-quarters until the train was due to leave in five minutes.

Fred, George, Anna and I followed Percy, Ginny, and Mr. and Mrs. Weasley though the boarder.  Ron and Harry were coming after us.

We ran with Ginny to the train and her brothers loaded our trunks on to the train while Anna, Ginny and I got the pets.  Fred, George, Ginny, Percy, Anna, and I go on the train just before it left King's Cross station.

"Wait," I said once Percy left for the Prefects Carriage.  "Did Harry and Ron ever get on to the train?"

"I think they did...  Hopefully."  Anna said slowly

We neared the back of the train when we finally found an empty compartment.  Sadly, it was the compartment right in front of the Prefects Carriage.  The five of us talked for a while, but considering none of us got much sleep and we were all woken up early, we started dropping like flies.  Anna curled up with a book, and a very nervous Ginny fell asleep in George's lap.  George himself nodded off and Anna quickly followed.  Soon Fred and I were the only ones awake.

"I don't know why, but I think I have a bad feeling about this year."  I said, breaking the silence that filled the compartment.

"What do you mean?"  Fred asked quietly, trying not to wake the others.

"I don't know exactly, but I just feel like something really bad is going to happen, I'm not sure what it is though.  It's probably just nothing."

Fred nodded in response.  "Hopefully this year will just a peaceful school year."  I looked at him oddly.

"Peaceful?  Really Fred; me, you, George and Anna are going back to Hogwarts, the least peaceful place in all of Europe.  Adding to that, we have Lockhart, Snape, and the Slytherin's to deal with and plus it's Ginny's first year.  Since when have our lives ever been peaceful?"

He thought to himself for a moment.  "Yeah, I think I'm sugar deprived right now, want to go find the trolley?"  He asked me.

"I smiled at him.  "Yeah, let’s go."

After we got our sweets and ate them, we thought it would be a good time to wake Anna, George, and Ginny.  Other students had already started to get changed into their school robes.  Fred started to wake up Ginny and George, while I started to wake Anna.

"Hey, Anna, get up!"  I said loudly in her ear.  She awoken with a start and started mumbling profanities towards me under her breath.  "Aw, stop that right now Anna!"  I said playfully.  "You know you love!"

"Yeah, yeah."  She said.

"Georgie, George."  Fred said shaking his brother.  "Wake up you git!"  George still didn't wake up.  Fred looked like he just came up with the greatest idea in the world.  "George, Anna's taking her shirt off!  He said loudly.
