Chapter 26~Lupin, Loons and Lessons

Anna, Fred, George and I sat with the other Gryffindor and Ravenclaw fifth years as we waited for our class to start.  Professor Lupin walked out of his office.

“Good afternoon.”  He said, smiling at us.  “Go on and put away your books, you won’t need them today.”  We did as we were told as he started to call roll.

“Valery Smith?”

“Here.”

"Annabella Thompson?”  He said, almost unsure of himself. He looked up at us.

Here, and I go by Anna."  She said.  He starred at both of us.

"Isabel Thompson?"

"It's Izzy, here."  I said, giving him a smile.  Anna and I both look very similar to our Mum, so I could only imagine if he was making the connection or not.

Professor Lupin was still starring at us.  It seemed like he zones out or something.  "Uh, Professor?  Is there something wrong?"  Anna asked him.

"No, nothing at all."  He said before he continued to call roll.

The class went by quickly.  He was a very good teacher, defiantly better than Lockhart was.  After class was over, we stayed behind so we could talk to him.

"You knew our Mum, didn't you?"  I asked him.

"Yes, I knew Marissa."  He said.  "The question is, how do you two know who I am."

"Mum left us her journals; we've just started reading them."  Anna explained.

"Oh, the famous journals of Marissa Black."  He chuckled.  "She was always writing in them.  How far have the two of you gotten?"

"The end of October in your Second Year."  Anna and I said at the same time.

"Oh, so you know about..."

"Yeah."

"Don't worry about it."

"We won't tell anyone."

"We're not that bad."

He sighed in relief.  "Okay, thank you."

"No problem."  We said simultaneously.

"Do you do that a lot?"  He asked while laughing a little.

"Not really."  We said, grinning at him.

"You two look just like your mother."  He said, still smiling.

"You guys must have been close."  Anna said.

"She was a wonderful person."

"Thanks for talking with us."  I said.

"Any time."  He said.  I was starting to really like Professor Lupin.

"Oh, so you got the Grim?"  I asked Harry, who looked like a ghost.

"How did you know?"  He asked.

"Your expression explains it all, Trelawney's a loon, isn't she?"

"Finally!"  Hermione exclaimed.  "Someone who understands!  You're not taking her class, are you?"

"Nope, I dropped it before I was even done with my third year."

"How did you even do that?"  Hermione asked in shock.
