(23) Loke x CelestialSpirit!Reader ~ Rust [Pt. 1]

Lucy skips happily down the street with a big smile on her face.

After visiting a little shoppe that is visiting to town to sell its goods and trinkets, the blonde ended up spotting a shiny key in a glass box under a pile of old tomes. She'd asked about the object and discovered that it belongs to (Y/n) the Tiger, a gold keyed celestial spirit who has been disregarded by most celestial mages. A variety of price numbers spewed from Lucy's mouth as she bargained with the shoppe's owner. They eventually settled on a price which left both persons satisfied.

Lifting the lid of the glass case, Lucy slowly removes a soft cloth to reveal the golden key sitting on a plushy, velvet cushion. The blonde celestial mage has never heard of the tiger spirit before. She is only aware that there are 12 golden keys, not 13. The fact that the shoppe's owner said that this spirit has been disregarded by many mages and spirits does help to explain the spirit's anonymity, but she'd have to confirm it with Loke, aka Leo the Lion.

"Gate of the Lion, I open thee!" Lucy says, raising Loke's key above her head. A bright light shines in her eyes. It slowly fades away with Loke standing before the blonde mage.

"Hello, Lucy. Why did you summon me? You're not in a fight," Loke inquires.

"Ne, Loke... Do you know anything about a spirit named (Y/n) the Tiger? I bought a key from a small shoppe and the owner told me it was a 13th key that most people ignore," Lucy replies. She slowly pulls out the glass case from her back and opens it to show Loke.

The orange haired male gasps loudly, clasping his hands over his mouth with disbelief. "M-May I see it?" Lucy nods with a concerned look. Loke reaches with shaky hands and gently lifts the shiny, gold key from the velvet pillow, cradling it in his hands. "I-I can't believe it... After all these years... Decades of being apart... Y-You found her..."

"Found... Who?" Lucy asks with evident confusion.

"My love," Loke breathes out," My beloved (Y/n) the Tiger."

"Ehhh??!! You have a girlfriend?!" Lucy's scream is heard by all of the other residents in the apartment building. "Why didn't you say anything about her!?"

"She got separated from me," the celestial spirit explains with a sorrowful tear trickling down his face," We were in a fight one day when (Y/n) missed an attack and almost got hurt. It infuriated Karen, so she punished (Y/n) after the battle was over. Karen abused her even when she did nothing wrong. Eventually, (Y/n) was too weak from all the abuse, so she was sold off as a slave to some other mage. I never saw her after that."

"Wow." Lucy can barely say anything.

She was knowledgeable about Karen's cruelty towards her spirits, but Loke's words makes her heart race in fear for (Y/n)'s state when she gets summoned. Many different possibilities of what can happen. With such a past, (Y/n) might freak out and return back to the spirit world or wherever she's from. Being that Loke hasn't seen her since she was sold, Lucy wonders where the tiger spirit has been hiding. There's a very little chance of her being in the spirit world if she hasn't been seen, but the blonde is unaware of any other place spirits can go to when they're not summoned. They definitely cannot stay in the human world.

"Loke," she starts in a hushed voice," if you haven't seen (Y/n) since Karen sold her, then where has she been this entire time. You're in the spirit world most of the time, so how is it that you can't see her?"
