A/N: Here's an EXTREMELY short drabble. I might write a follow-up story for this later on.

Natsu giggles with joy as the small, newborn, blue exceed settles onto his head, nestling its small body in the soft tufts of the young boy's pink hair. Trying to get a better look at his new companion, Natsu's eyes roll up, straining to get a glimpse of the blue fur-ball. From the side, the boy's best friend laughs at the amusing face he is making.

"You're so silly, Natsu," (Y/n) comments giddily, the small hands cupping over her mouth failing to stifle the soft laughter. The young mage climbs onto a nearby bench and scoops up the exceed with a gentle touch. The blue exceed pays no mind to the shift, continuing to nap with ease as (Y/n) runs a hand over his head. "His fur is so soft!"

Reciprocating (Y/n)'s actions, Natsu grins widely after his small, furry companion yawns with a smile on its face. "I'm going to name you... Happy!"

Curious guild members witnessing the special moment between the children cheer in awe, several adults turn around to hide their teary eyes; a few their fellow peers notice and call them out, much to their embarrassment.

Mira Jane, along with the other older girls, squeal happily as they watch Natsu and (Y/n) play with Happy. Curious eyes remain glued on the young pair; not a single word leaves their mouths.

"Aww," Mira coos, "I just want to hug them all! They look like a little, happy family."

"Ehh?" Unable to imagine the white-haired girl's words, Erza throws a pointed look in her direction. "What are you going on about? There's no way that will happen. They aren't even old enough to take care of themselves! How would anyone expect them to be able to take care of that exceed?"

Makarov, who has been spectating the events prior to the girls' argument, chides, "Now, now, Erza, just because Natsu and (Y/n) are young does not mean they hold no knowledge about caring for someone else. Instinct and common sense will aid them in their newest stage life. Learning such skills early on will help prepare the children for their future."

"B-"

"Hush, my child. Allow the young ones to enjoy their newfound joy in life. You will understand some day."
