I unblocked my seatbelt and stepped with a sigh out of the car.

"Remember what we talked about, Christine,” my mother said firmly.

I slammed the door shut and rolled my eyes.

It was hard to be thankful right now. It had been like the worst weekend ever. I had did nothing but cried.

But one thing was clear for me: I needed Jason.

Not that I couldn’t live without him, but I wanted him in my life.

"You don’t care about anyone but yourself!"

I closed my eyes shut. I had really needed him yesterday.

I opened the enormous door to the school, and entered. I looked down at the floor, and began to walk down the hall. Wasn’t it longer than it used to be?

At the door to the poetry class, Pheobe stood and enthusiastically waved.

I gave her a strained smile before we went to a two hours lesson with Mrs. Wright.

When we, after two long hours, finally got a break Emma came running up to me.

"Christine! How was your date?” She smiled happy and gave me a hug.

"Date? Have you been on a date?” Pheobe squealed excited.

"Yes... " I muttered, and went with in the direction to our lockers.

“I wanna hear everything! How was he like? Which place did he take you to? " Emma anxiously asked.

I looked around at the other students who stood around us.

"Can’t we talk about this later? When there aren’t so many people?” I sighed, and laid my poetry books into my locker.

"Are you all right, Christine?” Emma asked quietly, and put a hand on my shoulder.

"Yes," I nodded. She shouldn’t worry more than necessary.

"I just need to be alone,” I said and gave her slight smile.

They nodded in understanding and sent each other a worried look.

"I mean it! It's nothing big. Just... "

"It's OK Christine,” Pheobe smiled.

"We’ll see you at math then,” Emma sighed before they went down the hall, through the crowd.

I pretended I rowed for some books, so the others wouldn’t notice that I only stood there because I didn’t wanted to talk with anybody.

But I couldn’t do like that forever. It would also look suspicious.

With a sigh, I closed the locker.

I flinched when a hand was suddenly put on my lower back and gently caressed me.

I sighed deeply. I could recognize his touch.

"What are you doing here?” I whispered, my head toward the locker.

"Looking for Gabriel,” Jason deep voice muttered behind me.

"But I found something better,” He then whispered.

I looked down at the floor and smiled to myself.

"How are you?” He whispered again.

"I’m-" I sighed. I couldn’t lie to him.
