Denial

Chapter 24

A/N: This is kind of a filler chapter to give you guys some good Lucaya family moments with little Lucy! 

Maya POV

The next morning I woke up to an empty bed. I was thankful to Lucas for letting me sleep. I think he knew the pregnancy hormones plus all this moving had me tired. I made my downstairs and Lucy was watching TV so I figured Lucas must be in the kitchen. I walked in and sure enough he was in there pouring himself a drink of orange juice. 

"Good morning, beautiful." he said with a smile as he put the orange juice back in the fridge. 

"Hey, thanks for letting me sleep." I said as I walked over to him. 

"No thanks needed."  he said as he gave me a quick peck on the lips. "Luce really wanted to cuddle this morning so we watched cartoons together while you slept." 

"I love you. Thank you for being such an amazing dad to our little girl and now to our son. I'm so thankful for that." I said with a smile. 

"I love you too. You three are my world." he replied. 

I pulled Lucas by his shirt to bring him closer to me so that the gap between was now closed. He smirked at me then leaned down and kissed me. I nibbled on his bottom lip wanting more access and he opened his mouth allowing me entrance. Our tongues brushed against each others as we stood there making out in the kitchen.  We were so lost that we didn't even hear Lucy walk into in the kitchen.

"EWWW!" she said causing me to jump away from Lucas. 

I looked over Lucy whose little nose was scrunched up in disgust. I couldn't help but chuckle. 

"Aren't you supposed to be watching cartoons?" Lucas teased causing her to grin. 

Lucy smiled and nodded "Yes, but aren't you supposed to be cuddling with me?" she said and I couldn't help but laugh at her sass. 

"She told you." I mumbled and Lucas rolled his eyes at me. 

"How come you don't want to snuggle with Mommy?" I said and she grinned at me. 

"Mommy we cuddle all the time it's Daddy's turn." she said with her little hands on her hips Lucas started laughing. 

"Go out and we'll be out in a minute." Lucas said. 

"You just want to kiss Mommy again." she said and then Lucas acted like he was going to chase her. She took off running. 

Once she was out of the kitchen Lucas turned back at me and I was still giggling. "You're fucked." I said with a laugh.

"Hmm why's that?" he said as he came closer. "Does that mean I'm fucked by you?"

I looked at him and rolled my eyes "You're such a perv. You already deal with me now you're dealing with Maya 2.0." I said with a grin. "She's so much like me. I love it." 

"You're right.  One of you is enough." he teased. 

"I've taught her well. The sass level is so on point." I laughed as I began to make myself some eggs. 

"I hope Levi is more like Dad." he said to me. 

"Nah, he'll be like Mommy too. Then you'll be dealing with three of me." I said before giving him a shit eaten grin. 

"Whatever you say short stack." Lucas replied. "So what are we going to do today? 

"I need to wrap her presents at some point. Are we going to your moms tonight?" I asked him.

"Yep. She would love for us to come over to her Christmas Eve party."he answered.

"I really miss my mom Lucas. I wish I could have gone home for Christmas." I replied. 

"I know you do. It will be a nice Christmas just the three of us. Lucy will love having us both here in the morning. Plus she's going to be excited to see he presents." Lucas chuckled.

"I can't wait for her to see the silicone baby doll that we got her. She is going to LOVE that and it's perfect for her. Especially knowing she has a baby brother on the way." I said with a smile. 

"Right. I'm excited to be with you this year too." he said and kissed me softly. "Come on we'll go out and watch some cartoons with her." 

I followed Lucas out to the living room and Lucy was cuddled in the blankets watching Frosty the Snowman. Frosty and Rudolph were always my favorites as a kid.  Lucas and I sat down on each side of her so that she was between us. 

"Mommy can I have a bite of your eggs?" she asked me with a grin. 

"Here you go." I said as I took a spoonful of scrambled eggs and put it to her mouth.

"You make the best eggs Mommy. They're better than Daddy's" she said with a grin trying to not laugh. I knew she was joking with him.

"Thanks baby." I said with a grin and then looked at Lucas with an evil grin.

"Excuse me, munchkin?" Lucas said as he grabbed her and began to tickle her. "What was that again?" 

"Daddyyyy." she giggled "You and Mommy both make good eggs." she giggled. 

"But Mommy's are better right?" I joined in. 

Lucy started laughing hysterically "Yes but Daddy's are good too when he doesn't burn them." 

I lost it laughing at that comment boy did she troll him good. She just stat there laughing knowing she got him good and I laughed right along with her. 

"I'm sorry but she got you good there. You have to hand it to her." I giggled as I continued to eat my eggs. 

"Are you making fun of my cooking Lucy Rae?" Lucas joked and she started laughing again. 

"But Daddy you did burn them once." she laughed. "And the toast one time too." 

"Is there anything you haven't burnt? I'm surprised your old house is still standing." I joked and he rolled his eyes at me. 

"What am I going do with you two?" he replied. 

"Nothing, You're stuck with us." I answered. 

"I can live with it. Just wait until Levi gets here." he said to me. "We're going to make a great team." 

Lucy started giggling again "But Levi's on me and Mommy's team. When Mommy and I talk to him we tell him that he has to be." she said with a smile. 

"Guess I'm going to have a big talk with Mommy then." he said and she giggled. 

"Good luck. Mommy always wins." she said and I chuckled again.

"Come on Huckleberry you don' think I'm already on top of that? Me and Luce already have him in started on in womb training." I said and he rolled his eyes at me. 

"I don't know about that but I do know of one thing you'll be on top of later." he said and I laughed. 

Luckily that went over Lucy's head and she didn't ask any questions. Lucas and I spent the rest of the day watching Christmas movies and playing games with our daughter. I was looking forward to the Christmas party this evening and then doing some wrapping with Lucas. I was really looking to spending our first Christmas together as a family. It's a really nice feeling.
