"I believe this belongs to you," Fury says, setting a black case on the glass table and sliding it towards me.
A wave of nostalgia hits me as soon as I open the case.
In it was a quiver with custom arrows that filled it and a bow. Along with it were a pair of twin blades, made out of the same material that makes up Captain America's shield.
I pick up an arrow from its case, that like the other content of the box were custom made. Turning it in my hands, I carefully admire it and the way it was so skilfully crafted.
"We're going to have to start manufacturing those again." Fury smiles, "I'm glad you're back here with us, Agent Romanoff." He says before turning to leave.
I return my attention to my weapons, running my finger over the gold calligraphy engraving at the bottom of the quiver;
To: C. Romanoff,
You're stronger than you think. Have faith in yourself. I know I always will.
From: C. Barton.
I smile at the words that have always stuck with me, even though the weapons haven't.
I have to get Clint back. I owe it to him to at least try.
"What the hell are you doing here?" The familiar voice cuts through the silence like a knife through butter.
I didn't have to look to know who it was that was standing by the door.
I sigh, turning to face my sister. "Look, I know you're mad-"
"Mad?" She cuts me off as soon as I start, "Oh, no. I'm beyond mad, Cam. You're not supposed to be here, it's not safe!"
"It's not safe for me anywhere, Nat!" I yell over her, "I've been ambushed seventeen times in the last three weeks alone. Everywhere I go, there is someone trying to hunt me down and they won't stop until they get me. There's no use."
Nat shakes her head as she folds her arms over her chest, "You can't be here."
"Well, I'm not going back either," I argue, refusing to back down. "It's been five years. I'm done hiding."
"You don't understand how dangerous this is. You could get hurt." She tries to reason.
"So could you." I take a deep breath to calm myself down before continuing, "Nat, Clint is out there somewhere. He needs our help. I can't get him back if I'm always out running or hiding."
"Clint would want you to be safe." Her brows as drawn together as she spoke, worry evident in her expression.
I shook my head, "I'm not going anywhere, Nat. It's my decision. Not Fury's or yours; mine. I take full responsibility for that and any consequences that comes with it. I'm not a little kid anymore, Nat. I can handle myself."
A slow clap sounds through the room, "Great speech." Stark comments, sarcastically. "Feisty. I like it, Junior." He says, making me roll my eyes.
