I had already decided to keep Avari off school tomorrow, but I was pretty sure that she wouldn't mind with one collie glued to her side.

"Avari? Come on sweetie." I spoke as she looked over the back of the couch at me. I almost laughed when Gracie appeared a few seconds doing the exact same.

"But I wanna play with Gracie mommy." She whined.

"Gracie needs rest too. Look at her tongue, she will be here when you wake. Grab Peanut."

She pouted at me before looping an arm around Gracie rubbing her face into her fur before she slipped off the couch with Peanut in her arms. "Good girl." I praised as she walked beside me.

I wasn't a genius to know that Gracie was right on our tails following.

Zak appeared from a bedroom door way holding his pillow and some clothes. "I- anti allergy pillow. Can't sleep without it." He laughed nervously slipping past us.

"Hey Zak?" I called making him turn. "Thank you."

He smiled genuinely "It's no problem, Gracie's bed is in there... Is that okay if she still sleeps in there?"

"Absolutely, it's your home and hers."

He nodded "I'll speak to you later."

As Avari brushed her teeth, I combed her hair and braided it back for her. After we washed her face and climbed into Zak's bed.

"This bed is bigger than a house!" Avari giggled kicking the bedding with her feet.

"That's because Zak is a big man." I replied sitting beside her.

"Who is he mommy?"

"Zak is an old friend. I used to work with him many years ago."

"Work on what?"

"Zak travels, so I was in charge of booking tickets, hotels and anything else they needed." I answered.

Avari went off in thought about it before pausing. "Did he know my Daddy?"

The question took me off guard, but I had always told myself that this day would come and I wouldn't lie to her.

"He did." I replied.

"What was my daddy like?" She asked playing with Peanuts ears. It was a small gesture to show that she was intent on listening.

I moved into her side and sighed. "Well, your daddy.. He is beautiful, breathtakingly beautiful, he is like a sunrise and a sunset, he's like a storm on a perfect summers day. He's like a cool breeze on a hot day, but also a harsh gale on a winters day. He's the sound of the waves at a beach, the sound of birds in the morning. He was my everything.... Until he gave me you." I replied stroking her hair softly.

She looked at me before looking at Peanut. "What's his name?

Her sterling grey eyes looked up at me for answers. "Well, his name was Da-"

A knock at the bedroom door cut me off as Zak poked his head around the door frame.

"Hey."

"Hello Zak!" Avari waved from his bed.

He froze throwing his arms out "Avari?! Avari where are you?!" He called looked around the room. Even diving onto the floor.

"I'm right here!"

"Ava?! Scarlett! Have you seen Ava?! Gracie?!" He got up looking behind the curtains, in his walk in and the ensuite. "Shh... I can hear her. Avari?!" He called out.
